Plummz: Much thanks for posting the article and the ping!
Outstanding article. Timmerman is excellent.
This is a very, very important sentence from the article:
Jane's reported in October that for the last two years Iraqi intelligence officers were shuttling between Baghdad and Afghanistan, meeting with bin Laden, Mugniyeh and bin Laden deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri. Top U.S. officials were briefed on these ties on Oct. 26, Insight reported ("Iran Cosponsors Al-Qaeda Terrorism," Dec. 3).

Note to all the FR anti-jihad Joes who love to whoop it up on every 'DOD Bombs This Or That Mountain in Ashcanistan' thread. THIS (above post) is what we are up against. Can you immagine any possible greater motivation than what the CIA must have to get this guy?! And he's still out there. If we get OBL it will be mostly luck. AND it won't matter. There's an almost endless supply of his ilk.
It is time for the West to admit that the only way to get the terroists is to use THEIR tactics. We must have asassination squads and pay huge bounties to whomever is capable of getting these guys. The killing must be wholesale, non-stop, and world wide.

"Twice the United States spotted Mugniyeh on international flights and sought to have him arrested."Arrest is too civilized. Put a price on his head. Dead or alive.

I'm gonna bump the bejeepers out of this thread. It is a HUGE reality check for we here at FR. It's a lot of fun to play armchair general, cheer on the wonderful troops, and generally enjoy our just deserved revenge while reading all the threads regarding our successes in Ashcanistan. But here we have a brutally informative post hilighting JUST how dangerous the enemy is. Just because the towelyban rag tag psuedo army went down like a two dollar hooker in this first round .... has NOTHING to do with what we are really up against. The REAL terrorists are going to hit us again. HARD. We need to steel ourselves for the certain cataclysm to come.

The action in Afganistan is important and had to be done. This killer is just another in a long list of killers who need killing. Going after him is a good idea and will not be delayed by the necessary military action in Afganistan.
Attempts to belittle Bin Laden's significance to world terrorism merely indicates some anti-Bush agenda on your part for some reason. Otherwise I see no reason for the either/or assertion. As though there would be no assistance to one by the other. It is good to attack the terror network where it is most exposed and most blatant. It is an excellent demonstration of what Mad Mo's murderous minions can expect now that there is a real president in the White House.

I was starting to wonder who had their hand shoved up OBL's butt far enough to make OBL's lips move. Question answered. Now who is pulling this monster's strings?
To: Plummz
Excellent post. Thank you. Zawahiri and Mugniyah have got to be top priority:

The FRENCH had this guy and did nothing????!!!!!

"Operation Global Phoenix" is what we need, using Christians In Action, Delta, SEALs, and contract mercenaries.
Put a bounty on the heads of these terrorists, and kill them whenever and wherever we can catch them.

And the French, "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" as Jonah Goldberg calls them, have said they will not turn this pond scum over to the United States unless we guarantee that we will not impose the death penalty on him. How quickly they forget that twice we imposed the death penalty on thousands of Germans, and suffered the death penalty for thousands of Americans, to save their scrwny necks from the jackboots. Here's how I suggest we deal with the French position in this matter: Tell them they can keep him as long as they care to, and can suffer the terrorist consequences of his buddies trying to spring him from a frog prison. And tell them we reserve the right to go find him wherever and however we can, when they cut him loose.
Included in that right we claim for ourselves is the right to take him to the nearest American terriroty -- perhaps the honored ground on the Normandy coast where row on row of crosses honor the Americans who are buried there -- give him a quick trial, and a proper execution -- and leave the French the body to dispose of as they choose.

It is good to attack the terror network where it is most exposed and most blatant. It is an excellent demonstration of what Mad Mo's murderous minions can expect now that there is a real president in the White House. Bingo. And every time a terrorist domino falls (Somalia, Iraq), the Arab street loses its awe of these killers.
Recruiting dries up as well, because there just aren't that many human beings who want to die in a losing cause.
Big ole bombs coming out of big ole bombers scare the hell out of the most "fearsome" fighters.

It may be that Iran, rather than Iraq, should be next on the list. It looks like their people would be very supportive.
To: StoneColdGOP
,,, does that surprise you about the French doing nothing? It doesn't surprise me at all.
To: Plummz
This is the third big prize. The priorities are al-Zawahiri, Mugniyeh, Atef, bin Laden and Omelet Omar.
The CIA, which now can essentially do anything it wants, should throw the kitchen sink at Mugniyeh after what he has done to them.
