British soldier dies after being shot in Kosovo
A British soldier with the international peacekeeping force in Kosovo, KFOR, died after being shot in the Yugoslav province's main city of Pristina, a KFOR spokesman said.
The spokesman, Captain Ollie Major, said: "A British soldier was injured as a result of a gunshot wound. The soldier later died."
Major said the soldier had been on duty in front of a partially built Christian Orthodox church when he was shot.
He did not give further details and did not name the soldier.
Unrest between Kosovo's ethnic Albanian majority, most of whom are Muslim, and its Serbian minority, mostly Orthodox, has dogged the UN mission there since it took over the administration in mid-1999.
Serbian forces had been forced out of Kosovo after 11 weeks of NATO airstrikes launched to protect the oppressed ethnic Albanians.
Sheesh, I thought only Clinton had "kneepad brigades." I guess Slobo's got the same sort of thing going. Whodathunkit?
And, of course, once they got sufficient "oomph" up on their own, the Croats did the same thing back to the Serbs, as did the Muslims.

And even snipping, automatically and always blamed on Serbs, was, when ACTUALLY TRACED in an incident described within the report, wass found to be from areas occupied by the Bosnian Muslim army.
Also many accusations of the Serbs DID prove to be hoaxes, yet the demonization from the hoaxes has stuck.
Second, are you trying to tell me that there was no Serbian "ethnic cleansing" going on in Croatia or Bosnia-Herzegovina prior to 1995? Do you even know who invented the term "ethnic cleansing?" Here's a hint: it was a Serb commander, describing what his forces were doing. And then the worm turned, and Croatian forces did it to Serbs in Krajina, and the Muslims did it to Serbs in Bosnia. Croats did beastly things to Serbs in World War II; so did Bosnian Muslims. That doesn't excuse anyone else's actions later on.
You know, it's really funny to watch a supposed "anti-communist" on Free Republic put on the Monica kneepads for a dedicated communist...
Why do think I've taken the attitude I have? It's because there are NO heroes in the Balkans, just varying shades of villain.

While I agree with you in that no one side is completely innocent, but I think you're making a mistake by lumping in the Serbs with bin Laden's Bosnian and KLA allies. The Serbs never threatened us; they were only fighting to hang on to what was theirs.
I have a hard time telling who the good guys were are this conflict sometimes as well. However I dont support taking sides in it either, especially when its obvious that the KLA has been involved in things contrary to US interests such as arms/drug trafficking and support for terrorism. In my view, It is against US interests and against the goals of the war on terror to even remotely support them in any way.
In the end further support for the KLA/UCK will only backfire. And much like what happened in Afghanistan, they may become foes further down the line.
I just want a PERMANENT solution to the mess before it starts Big Mistake Number Three...
