The NYT piece on the Clinton team provides for some head-shaking disgust and laughter, but posts like these that scroll on and on and on and on and on and on and on would take a half-day to read.

More Clinton scandal news: civil rights figure Ernest Green, who had ties to Clinton and his Chinese bag man Charlie Trie, has pleaded guilty to federal tax charges (story here).

We will know of the plans when Edwards starts making 'fact finding' trips overseas. He has already taking one trip to the Middle East. Guess that makes him an expert on that region. Where will be the next stop? Asia?

Of course he won't have the CIC experience col. klink had. After all, col. klink was CIC of the Arkanas National Guard :)

Thanks, for a great post. It will take the MOTHER of ALL SPINS by the clintonistas, and humangous support of the liberal media to show, that the bent one had done anything of value for the benifit of the American people. On the other hand, there are mountains of glaring deeds by the bent one to show what a scumbag he is. This low life of a president is intirely without SHAME!!! May he disappear into the voids, never to be seen again.

Four, too many people in the last 35 years have devised a delusional system whereby they look upon reality and pleas to take basic responsibility as an oppressive right-wing conspiracy. They have been supported in this belief by the media instead of having it challenged.

The Clintons have surfed this psychotic cultural and generational wave into the White House.

The attempt has been made to understand Bill and Hillary Clinton, particularly Bill, in terms of classical neurosis from abusive childhoods. But much of what is seen in the Clinton generation has made that model obsolete, although many from that generation, including psychiatrists and psychologists, desperately hold on to it to relieve themselves of any personal responsibility.

The truth is, Bill and Hillary Clinton have not suffered a bit of inconvenience for nearly 40 years¾including, for Bill, the inconvenience of military service. By his freshman year in high school Bill found he could manipulate people with showy glibness and deception, and nobody would call him on it. A good memory for acting lines would carry him through easy courses in the most prestigious schools in the country without effort or necessity to learn seriously. From there, he went almost immediately to being the boy governor of a state, and on to the presidency. It was all done with a little empty talk on a level that could be found on any high school debate team.

Hillary has led a similar life of ease and is now being pushed to take a senate seat and run for the presidency in 2004 on a platform of angrily confronting a vast right-wing conspiracy¾ which essentially consists of making accusatory and sarcastic remarks at you and me through a TV screen to the delight of angry women, spoiled angry leftists, and angry minorities. It isn't a bad life for an untalented spoiled brat who, without the world of TV and alienated politics, would be lucky to hold a job as a waitress in a truck stop.

The problem with the both Clintons is that they were long ago licensed to think and act at primitive, immature, and irrational levels of functioning. Much of this was a self-conferred licensing by a generation which has continued, and which has been the root of most of the political, economic, and social problems in this country.

I've always been supportive of Mia's posts, even when I was running a 486DX and a 28.8 modem. Glad to see you do too. They are works of art, no duplicates, and always informative and entertaining. I think of them as the Readers Digest version of all things Clinton. (not to mention the amount of work involved in putting one of those puppies up on FR).

Somehow I doubt that even the vaunted liberal press' myriad teams of socialist sycophants can convince average Americans that Clinton's pardon of FALN terrorists and fugitive felon Middle-East arms dealers / financiers (ala Marc Rich) did much to stem terrorism.

Q ERTY6 bump!

History will necessarily record that this depraved, self-absorbed and inept duo NEVER, EVER failed to put their pasty posteriors first.

For eight years (and counting), the consistent clinton calculus has been (and still is) this:

"How will this decision affect THE CLINTONS? To hell with the children; to hell with the country; indeed, to hell with civilization."

I think that history will view this much differently. They will say I made a bad personal mistake, I paid a serious price for it, but that I was right to stand and fight for my country and my constitution and its principles...

-----the First Psychopath, himself

...[bill clinton], a man who will be regarded in the history books as one of our greatest presidents.

-----Al Gore at clinton's post-impeachment rally

I suspect that, to spite us all,

Arthur Schlesinger will live to 120
just so he can write
the definitive clinton hagiography.

History Lesson
by Mia T

Someone--was it Maupassant?--
once called history "that excitable and lying old lady."
The same can be said of historians.

Surely it can be said of Doris Kearns Goodwin,
the archetypical pharisaical historian,
not-so-latently clintonoid,
Lieberman-Paradigmatic
(i.e., clinton is an unfit president;
therefore clinton must remain president),
intellectually dishonest,
(habitually doing what the Arthur Schlesingers of this world do:
making history into the proof of their theories).

The Forbids 400's argument is shamelessly spurious.
They get all unhinged over the impeachment of clinton,
claiming that it will
"leave the presidency permanently disfigured and diminished,
at the mercy as never before of the caprices of any Congress."

Yet they dismiss the real and present--and future!!--danger
to the presidency and the country
of not impeaching and removing
this admittedly unfit, (Goodwin)
"documentably dysfunctional," (NYT)
presidency-diminishing, (Goodwin)
power-abusing,
psychopathic thug.

Doris Kearns Goodwin and those 400 other
hog-and-bow-tied-save-clinton,
retrograde-obsessing historiographers
are a supercilious, power-hungry,
egomaniacal lot in their own right.

For them, clinton validates
what Ogden Nash merely hypothesized:
Any buffoon can make history,
but only a great man can write it.

Good one. Occasionally -- all right, almost never -- I can remember the Greek word for it.

Sou seeghareeteeria!! Pardon the transliteration - couldn't get the Greek letters to work here.

More than you ever wanted or needed to know:

"When a single word that governs or modifies two or more others must be understood differently with respect to each of those words. This combination of parallelism and incongruity often has a witty or comical effect. Not to be confused with zeugma. Not to be confused with zeugma.

Originally, syllepsis named that grammatical incongruity resulting when a word governing two or more others could not agree with both or all of them; for example, when a singular verb serves as the predicate to two subjects, singular and plural ("His boat and his riches is sinking"). In the rhetorical sense, syllepsis has more to do with applying the same single word to the others it governs in distinct senses (e.g., literal and metaphorical); thus, "His boat and his dreams sank."

It is my view that the antidote to THE BIG LIE promulgated by the clinton agitprop machine is THE BIG TRUTH. With the advent of the internet, we have the power to bypass the elitist media and bring the truth directly to the people. The internet is a powerful weapon, but we must learn how to harness it.

Information overload is a problem that has only been exacerbated by the internet. The answer to information overload is the systematic propagation of information; that is to say, the answer to information overload is PROPAGANDA...

If we are to succeed, we must exploit propaganda techniques; we must adapt them to this new venue; we must not be afraid to use them...

Film Noir in the White House
by Mia T
"Read my future." - "You haven't got any."
--Exchange in Touch of Evil between Orson Welles and Marlene Dietrich (as a gypsy fortune teller)

Leni Riefenstahl, the film genius who outmaneuvered propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels to chronicle Hitler's 1934 Nuremberg rallies in perhaps the most notorious documentary ever filmed, Triumph of the Will, symbolizes the naïve actress and director who is induced to deal with devils -- Nazi-pantalooned then. . . nasty, pantless (or pantsuited) now . . .

After the war, Riefenstahl excused her effort as pure documentary -- watch for Streisand, Spielberg, Geffen et al. to do the same one day -- yet she compiled one section, Hitler's motorcade to Munich, from several different events and shot the closeups of Nazi leaders at the podium in a staged studio sequence.

As Riefenstahl told it, editing-to-perfection was crucial. She insisted that the finished quality of Triumph of Will came from her editing, not from any imposition of "posed shots" or choreography on her part. With her innovative editing techniques, Riefenstahl deliberately and selectively aestheticized Hitler and the Congress' proceedings. By editing out a shot of Hitler wiping his nose and including instead "more interesting expressions," by eliminating the human, Riefenstahl eliminated the inhuman.

The only difference today, in this era of ubiquitous cameras, continuous news and the shameless auteur-tyrant, is that the useful-idiot Washington Press Corps, spun by and on the Hollywood-Arkansas Axis, edits out the clintons' inhumanity (and ineptitude) in real time. . .
