You won't find a lever gun in 762x39 for the reasons mentioned above, but 30-30 is ballistically a close match. If you want to keep calibers consistent, consider a handgun caliber like 44 or 357 Magnum.

Presently, Marlin rules the roost on Lever Rifles, check their website at http://www.marlinfirearms.com/ and look at the Guide Guns and 336 series to start your search.

We will have at least on Marlin. Probably a 30-30 (Dad has an older one that I might be able to buy). I'm looking more for the non-standard rifles. Something that will be good for the estate 50 years from now. Sorta like the Western Auto .22.
