Bin Laden: Attack on US to Stop Support for Israel

LONDON (Reuters) - Osama bin Laden (news - web sites), the world's most wanted man, said on a video broadcast by al-Jazeera satellite television on Wednesday that the September 11 suicide attacks were intended to stop U.S. support for Israel.

``Our terrorism against the United States is worthy of praise to deter the oppressor so that America stop its support for Israel, which is killing our children,'' the bearded, Saudi-born fugitive said.

He added that the tape was being issued to mark about three months since the attacks on New York and Washington and two months after the United States began its bombing of Afghan targets.

The remarks indicated the tape was recorded in early to mid December.

Looking tired but calm, bin Laden was dressed in a clean, camouflage-patterned combat jacket. He sat against a cloth or canvas screen, his Russian-designed submachinegun propped beside him. There was no indication where he was when he recorded the video.

Actually, bin Laden rarely made any statements against Israel prior to 9/11. He has repeatedly said he turned on the US after Desert Storm, and acts because of our military presence in Saudi Arabia. The anti-Israel statements came only when he needed support from other arabs because of impending US action.

Why would you assume he's telling the truth now?

Not trying to spin, but a question comes to mind. Is it possible he is pulling a "Saddam" by releasing this tape now?

Saddam wanted to draw the Arab world into the Gulf war by attacking Israel with scuds. The rationalle was that when Israel responded, the anger created in the Arab world would rally other militaries to his aid.

Since, we have not heard this spin before as a "primary" motivation, the timing is very interesting. The US military is having success in Afganistan, we are going "cave by cave" and attacking whatever infrastructure he built. Finally, other governments in the third world are "ratting out" his cronies. He lives with a huge bounty on his head, and his enemy is closing in.

Perhaps this is a sign of fear. If the rants become more frantic and come more often then IMHO we can be sure of it.

You are speaking about propaganda tapes delivered to "Al Jazeera". The tape that was found in Kabul told a different story - one of an evil sick man who did not even mention Isreal.

His beef with the US began with them being stationed on Saudi soil, but to pull Isreal into this is just more Jew bashing. The only time anyone cares about the Palestinians is when they need to CYA for when they are murdering one another. As mentioned before, Saddam claimed the same thing when he invaded fellow muslim countries.

Let us give you alittle advice, gleened from our own personnal experiences. It would be much easier and far less dangerous for you if you would disregard such emotions as protecting your families and country. Such emotions will cause you great harm and pain as it is much easier to see your land occupied, your liberties lost and your women raped than it is to die defending the same. Please let these emotions slip away and send up the white flag. Surrendering to your enemy is, in the long run, in your best interest. Bin laden has made it very clear that three things bug him-

1. US support for Israel.

2. US troops in saudi Arabia.

3. US sanctions against Iraq.

Yet some people insist on playing amateur psychoanalyst and claiming that his motivation is something else. Go figure.

I for one don't care what his political or psychological motivations were or are. He is responsible, both directly and indirectly, for the deaths of several thousand American civilians as the result of an attack on the American homeland. I care not one whit about his grievances. No one held a gun to his head and forced him to kill our people. He chose that route of his own accord.

For that he must die, if he hasn't already.

Bin Laden is said to have made this tape in early December. This would have been made prior to his death or his flight to Pakistan.

BTW, if he is in Pakistan, you can bet that he'll be hanging around the Northwestern Frontier alot. He intends to provoke a war between India and Pakistan. I am rock bottom sure of this. His jihadist movement has flagged now that it has suffered a decisive defeat in the field and a thoroughgoing rejection by the Afghan people. Continued jihadist provocations in India proper, however, such as the bombing of innocent civilians and attacks on the Parliament, could bring the boyos back into the streets if the Indians decide that they've had enough and decide to resolve the Pakistan question themselves.

These evil scum need to be nuked. There is no possible way to justify murdering 4000 innocent people's whose only crime was showing up to work on 9/11. You can whine and spin about Israel all you want but we know who the evil one is here and they not only deserve to die but they will die. Every last one of them. America is going to see to that.
