Owner of A/C That Crashed Into Tampa Building Was Publically Pro-Arab!!!.
St. Pete Times ^

Posted on 01/05/2002 2:13:06 PM PST by MindBender26

Part of article from St. Pete Times after Sept 11.

"Robert C. Cooper, president of National Aviation Flight School and Aviation Rentals, stressed that the extra security cannot be done at the expense of those of Middle Eastern descent.

"I don't want to get involved in profiling," he said. "I have faith in my government. I have to work on the belief that my government has basis to allow them into the country and show them proper respect." end of article.

Cooper is head of National Aviation Holdings that owned A/C. Many Florida flight schools train Arab students. Wonder if comment was made so as not to p. off students. Wonder if Arab pilot flew A/C into building. THIS IS FR EXCLUSIVE!!!

Wait a minute. Was this 15-year old kid who stole the plane and crashed into the building an Arab? The Drudge story didn't identify the kid. Am I missing something or are some people jumping to some pretty wild tinfoil-type conclusions?

That's the interesting thing here. There has been no mention of the kids nationality or anything else about him other than the usual knee jerk denials from the authorities about this incident "not being terrorist related."

I suppose we will have to wait a week or so as usual.

"Can we report abuse on an unnecessarily inflammatory thread? Sheesh."

That is normally done by some people when they find themselves on the losing end of an argument.

Unless, of course, "Charles Bishop" is related to "Richard Reid."

If they no longer control the oil, they will barely have money to go to the next oasis, let alone come to America.

A news anchor asked a Coast Guard officer about doing anything about the plane. He responded that he was not responsible for doing anything about the plane. The Coast Guard was on routine shore patrol when they saw the plane and tried to direct it to a small, local airport. In any case, shooting a small plane while it was over downtown Tampa would have resulted in more property damage, and it would have likely caused injuries or deaths on the ground. The plane was a small Cessna with about 40 gallons of fuel and no passengers. It was not a large jet with thousands of gallons of fuel and hundreds of passengers. The Coast Guard did the best they could do under the circumstances. In addition, shooting down a domestic plane requires the order of a specified General or the President.

Early TV news reports stated that the pilot was an English student, which implied that he was from England and not that he was taking a high school English course. Yet, he was a student at a local high school.

Frankly, IMO, its a mistake to give flying lessons to one so young. Of course, I'm now the guy who thinks people have no business driving till 21.

I would say driving at 18, flying at 21.

I think something must be wrong. I found myself in agreement with Belial on something yesterday. And now with you. God must be punishing me.

I feel the same way about yaks and musk oxen, can't be too careful around either.

I am likely one of the few on FR who has owned Asian water buffalo, I learned to be careful around them too.

"Some of you want to end that (freedom) in the name of "safety"."

A LOT of dimbulbs want to end it in the name of "safety".
After all "there's a WAR going on!".
(For some reason that's supposed to make our freedom a bad thing.)

(must...stop...rant...)

A bunch of BS! The most likely scenario was that the youngster had psychological problems. Maybe sucicidal? If anything this incident proves that a small trainer type airplane cannot topple a building. All of this news hype crap has been devasting to the general aviation industry.

So you approve of a religion that mutilates their kids

Umm... Ok, then you must not approve of religions that advocate circumcision, which is legally "assault with intent to do bodily harm".

You mean OTHER than circumcision?

"open your eyes....close mindedness is so sad......grow up"

The mind reels at the irony of your posts.

"I don't think so. I think it was an over-confident and disobedient teen-ager's tragic screw-up."

You are right;it was precisely this.

I did own up, however, to my ignorance (post 133). . .

. . .daresay, September 11 had an influence in his considering 'ways and means'. . .very sad.

So, with millions of Muslims in the US, where are all the attacks?

It's good to see that I've not been the only one asking this question.
The CIA says that there are 1.9 billion Muslims in the world.
If their religion requires them to be hate-filled killers, it looks as though
the majority fall a bit short of the mark.
