Yeah, you read the story about what they do with the toothpaste, right?

Well, I am not going to get into a discussion of psychotherapy, I don't think it works. The article says they are being "treated" for some disorders. I took this to mean that they were being given drugs. Sounds good to me.

Oh, great, terrorists on Prozac.

I am NOT okay with that.

"When they find out what happened, they know that it is Islamically wrong," he said. "The understanding is that they are not allowed to kill people who are innocent."

Asked if any of the detainees had regrets, he said only, "Some, they do."

If you listen carefully enough, you can still hear them screaming.

That one is probably the guy who needed post traumatic shock therapy. Scared so far out of his mind by a daisy cutter that he can no longer tell which end is which.

Ada however, will flip out over 'torture,' not that she/he/it was too concerned about drugging a six year old Cuban kid.

So..."not allowed to kill innocents"...here is the caveat...Americans are not "innocents". But lumped together as "the Great Satan". This cleric is simply "being used".

"...Doctors at the Naval fleet hospital said yesterday they were treating two of the detainees for mental disorders - one was being medicated for post-traumatic stress disorder and another for manic depression..."

Only in America.

Manic-depression also known as bipolar affective disorder is not the same as "depression." With the former, behavior can become so manic as to be violently chaotic...certainly one could not effectively interrogate a person in such a state.

On the other hand, severe depression can lead to serious physical disorders and may be even life threatening. It's difficult to interrogate someone who is so depressed they can't think straight or so sick they're on the verge of death.

That's because you are ignorant about mental illness.

Oh, spare me.

Heaven forbid some terrorist has "life-threatening" depression.

Why don't you tell it to the WTC families?

WHAT??????? WHAT????????????? WHAT????????????? DO NOT TELL ME THIS. We are NOT treating these FRICKING TERRORISTS for "DEPRESSION."

You've obviously never dealt with anyone who has bipolar disorder.

You treat it before something really bad happens. And maybe this guy will become lucid enough to talk and rat out somebody.

That's because you are ignorant about mental illness.

And you are quite intimate with it, clearly.

Screw you. I was married to someone with it.

And if some murderous terrorist is afflicted with it, that's cosmic justice.

I didn't know it was possible to be married to yourself...unless you also have MPD.

What wit.

On the level of: "I know you are but what am I."

No, your posts to this thread suggest you have some sort of mental disorder. If not bipolar disorder, then maybe just a severe case of cranial rectosis.

If this guy gets lucid enough to talk, we may learn some useful information from him. You would rather that we didn't learn anything, just to have your cosmic joke. You must not live near any good targets--one advantage of living in a trailer park, I suppose.

I treat people with mental disorders for a living. You seem to just want to be closed-mindedly pugnacious.

I think that all the misgivings and distress is unneeded. I am assuming that the military knows how to interogate prisoners to get the most intel from them. The best way (the Nazi's Luftwaffe was good at this) is to treat the prisoner well, talk to him, get to know him, make him your "friend", and seduce rather than break him. Mistreatment only hardens the resolve of most men and actual torture is much less effective.

We want these arseholes wrung dry...by the most efficient means.

Mindedly is not a word. Perhaps you need to pick a field whose lexicon you have the capacity to employ.
