Excuse the vanity, but I have not seen this posted. Apparently, a front company for the Chinese Red Army is looking to buy out Global Crossing for $750M and would thus control their high bandwidth communications link between the US and Asia, and the US and Europe. Has anyone seen this in the press? Talk about a security risk!!
SINGAPORE Technologies Telemedia (ST Telemedia) and Hutchison Whampoa are the ones trying to buy GX. ST Telemedia is a semi real company. Hutchison Whampoa is a Red Army front company. Go to yahoo.com and do a search on Hutchison Whampoa for an interesting look!
As dangerous is their attempt to buy into key businesses that trade with us and the rest of the free world. GX is particuliarily bad due to the communications technology that the ChiComs would get hold of and the Trans Pacific communication ability!
If the ChiComs control communication, key ports, shipping, the Panama Canal and certain rare commodities and they could win the economic war. Winning the economic war enables the ChiCom to spend more on high tech war toys/equipment. We just saw what happened in Afghanistan when one foe has the high tech advantage over the other side.
This will never happen, the conservatives will not allow it. Watch to see which DemonicRat senators who hate America will be quiet and will work in the back ground to let these ChiCom front countries buy GX. Then watch the $'s that flow to these DemonicRat bastards who hate America. ChiCom $'s that help them to be re elected like X42 was in 1996.
Born to bridge the Atlantic, Global Crossing has grown into a global telecommunications carrier. The company operates an integrated global IP- (Internet protocol) based network that connects 200 cities in 27 countries in the Americas and Europe, and in Asia through its subsidiary Asia Global Crossing. Global Crossing provides managed data and voice services; customers include multinational corporations, service providers, and other telecom carriers. The company has sold its Web hosting unit (GlobalCenter) and its local-exchange carrier operations. It also is restructuring under bankruptcy protection and has agreed to a $750 million cash investment from Hutchison Whampoa and a unit of Singapore Technologies.
Spend a little time to get to know a friend and buddy of X42: (Link to ChiCom front company, Hutchinson/Whampoa trying to buy GX!)
Boxer never met an enemy of America that she didn't fall in full lust/love for!
As far as the canal issue, there aren't any Chinese working there. All the company has done is invest 300 million or more modernizing the harbors at both ends. As far as national security on the canal --the last time I went through (2 years ago) the canal was still narrow and far to narrow to float a modern aircraft carrier. Further, the Chinese depend on the regional security from the government of Panama and the US government.
I don't know how the idea came the Peoples Republic of China bought either the Panama Canal or Global Crossing. The PRC may own stock, but I doubt it. Li has characteristically, like all moguls, courted both the Chinese and US governments. In that respect he is no differant than David Winnick paying of the head of the DNC and X41 with cheap stock.
IMHO this all nonsense. HUWHY already owed Asian Crossing with Global Crossing. They also have lent money and bought stock in global crossing. I have no opinion as to the national security interest of the optic cable business, but I do note that there is now a glut.
