If there's anything to reports that CBS might replace David Letterman with Howard Stern if Letterman jumps to ABC, Stern's critics will be ready with a full-scale boycott.
The (self syled-ed.) King of All Media-whose radio show propelled Mel Karmazin into the vice chairmanship of Viacom/CBS-has often boasted he could dominate late night TV.
But Catholic League president William Donohue thunders, "CBS is out of its mind if it thinks it can get away with moving Howard Stern into the Letterman slot without a fight."
Donohue who plans to target one advertiser at a time, said, "No one in the entertainment business has angered more Americans than Howard Stern."

Most people have busy lives and don't care one way or another about these silly boycotts. Those who do have way too much time on their hands.
Why? Becuase politicians who do get elected. The Catholic League seems willing to take a far left Dem rather than recognize there are bigger fish to fry.
The term circular firing squad comes to mind.
As a saddened and disgusted Catholic, you can count me out on ANY support for your objections to Mr. Stern. You and the church are absolute gutless hypocrites and cowards for not cleaning out the vermin who have infested the church and molested little boys...scarring them for life. Instead, the church, and Cardinal Law moved the degenerates around to other parishes, rather than holding them up to the same moral standards you expect from parishioners. So Mr. Donovan, F U !

I don't believe in "censorship" of any kind. After all, let's not forget we're all up in arms about the "CFR" bill, and why that is wrong. Let Howard, if he does come to CBS, fail on his own merrits. No amount of "boycotting" will do any bit of difference. Howard's radio show has been "boycotted" for years now, and he's still on the air there! In the end, people will either make a show succeed or fail. The only thing "boycotts" do, as far as a T.V. or radio show is concerned, is bring it more ratings.

And bring in more revenue for Bill Donahue and his ilk. This business of screaming that the sky is falling, the country is going to hell, the Evil_________ are taking over, bla, bla, bla is one of the most lucrative rackets going. And con men of the Left and Right, religious and secular milk it for all it's worth. The key is to keep the rubes in a constant state of panic and crisis so they keep sending in those checks.
I didn't approve of the Gay groups boycott of "Dr."Laura, even though I depise her, and I think this foolishness is every bit as bad.
I'm old enough to remember going to Mass and once a year having to stand up to take a pledge not to watch any movies condemned by the "Legion of Decency."

Red Skelton used to say at the end of his show;Thank you for inviting us into your home. Howard Stern won't be coming into my home because I won't "invite" him. If others choose to invite him into their homes that's fine by me.
