Oh, come on now! What does national security matter when there is money and profits to be made? Bush has caught unlimmited criticism for protecting our steel industry because cheaper steel can be purchased from countries that are dumping their subsidized steel here.

Never mind that industry and the manufacturing process is a national security asset. We have to buy our combat boots from China because we have let our shoe industry be destroyed. Has this affected our national security if we go to the mat with Communist China? Why, absolutely not, our troops can learn, as the Indonesians have, the art of making sandals out of the sidewalls of used car tires.

It's time that the American people realize that national security and the well being of our country does not always equal the bottom line. Who wants the Chinese intercepting our military communications? If necessary, the military should buy its own fibre optic line rather than letting it go for some execs obscene profit.
