A leader of the largest Palestinian terrorist group spearheading suicide bombings and other attacks against Israel says he is following the orders of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.

''Our group is an integral part of Fatah,'' says Maslama Thabet, 33, a leader of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade. Fatah, headed by Arafat, is the largest group in the Palestinian Authority, the government of the autonomous Palestinian territories.

I think it's probable that Bush wants to get some troops into Iraq before sending the entire Arab world into a collective fit by denouncing Arafat. Is that fair or right? Nope. Along those same lines, is it unbelievable that the murdering, genocidal punk Arafat ever got the support of his fellow Arabs, let alone the West? Absolutely. He did just as much to Muslims & Arabs as to Jews and non-Arabs. But they call him statesman.

Someone (I think it was dennis w or Lent, but I could be wrong) recently said that when it comes to Israel, up is down and black is white. I agree. It's in no way rational, but rather completely spiritual. Pray for President Bush. He needs it.

It is just as probable that Gore is right about Bush talking big and swinging small. He is just as likely to conclude a deal with the Saudi princes to trade Israel for oil and inspectors. I fear we have been betrayed. I hope someone in the administration still believes what they say. I think Powell has won though.

Along those same lines, is it unbelievable that the murdering, genocidal punk Arafat ever got the support of his fellow Arabs, Why would he not have the support of his fellow Arabs ?
They are cousins in every way (except the late King Hussein).

let alone the West? The same West that watched Hitler grow

Absolutely.

It's in no way rational, but rather completely spiritual.

It's as if a powerful delusion has possessed the nations.

Pray for President Bush. He needs it.

So did Clinton
Perhaps it is inevitable

Pray for the Messiah.

you may not be helpful. but you have sized up yesterday's comments pretty well. I am dissappointed with bush. So are a lot of us.

He needs us NOT... after all, HE is the 82 percent president. or 92 percent. He cannot be wrong.

What's wrong with you? Don't you know he has a public relations battele to win that is important, even if it trashes our allies in Israel.

How dare Israel support and defend her national sovereignty? How provincial of them? How unhelpful for them to hunt down and kill members of the same group that brought us the glories of 9-11 in their own borders? How dare they?

They need to just lay there and "take it" when their kids, babies and unarmed wives are gunned down and nail bombed in the synagogue like good little jews. GWB made an idiot's comment yesterday. Like the good little christian he CLAIMS he is, he needs to confess his error and repent. There will be no peace in the middle east REGARDLESS of his efforts, and kicking our allies while they are knee deep in the blood of their little girls and infant sons every day of the week is pretty evil if you ask me.

In Israel, they have 9-11 every day, proportional to their population. But hey, they aren't being helpful and they refuse to lie down and die without a struggle. helpful my ass.

"Bush has decided that Israel taking out the terrorists is not being helpful. He has decided there are some good terrorists for him."

"Try utilizing some current event knowledge, instead of dribble to make your non-sensical commentary."

Actually he has a point. I voted for Bush. I contributed to his campaign. However, it seems to me that he is violating his own ultimatum. What happened to "Either you are with us or you are with the terrorists?" Does he think the Palistinians are good terrorists? If not, then why not let Israel deal with the problem. Are murdered Israeli citizens less important then murdered US citizens?

We do know that all nations will one day be against Israel

yeah yeah yeah... ridiculous, and the same books says that all are sinners and fall short of God's glory too. Does that mean that we don't have a choice, that we can or should then "continue in sin that grace may abound?" God forbid that stupid thought.

Nation's have choices. What's wrong with standing up to God and saying... HEY, WE aren't going to betray our friends and allies? You think he would not rejoice at the thought? Or you think he would insist we proceed to do the wrong thing? Because of one sentence of a general nature takenout of context by the "woe is me" crowd? I think he would instead, slap us on the shoulder and say, "Hey, I dig that about you guys, HOW CAN I HELP you do the right thing?"

We have a right to say NO to this "all nations" comment I keep hearing folks throw around.

Everybody betrays others on occasion. All nations have betrayed God's people at one time or another. It does NOT have to be the final status of every nation on the face of the earth simultaneously, for all to have betrayed Israel or the USA or Australia for that matter. NOt every nation has or will betray Israel for the simple fact of the matter that Israel has NOT always existed as a nation. All, apparently does not mean ALL in the sense of each and every in an eternal continuum. There are ALWAYS exceptions. I am shooting for being the exceptional nation.

We can CHOOSE to do the right thing. Beleive me, it does happen. And when it does, God does not get angry and say... now see here, I said all nations would do such and such evil, now you better commit that evil, or I am gonna smack you down. That is nuts!

WE have choices. We can do the right thing. Bush can turn around on this, like a u turn on sepulveda blvd. "oops, I said that wrong." is all it takes.

He NEEDS to do so. NOW. The inevitability of oncoming doom is "NOT HELPFUL." We need to stop doing the "doom is imminent" thingie.

Good question. You need to keep asking it on each and every thread where it applies. Maybe a bush researcher will see it and ask him for us.

How about that: Arab truth-telling is newsworthy. It's a headline event when they stop mouthing anti-Semitic agitprop and tell the plain and simple truth - -which will be completely and utterly lost on the left, who don't want to be distracted from their obsessive sympathy for the Palis.

WindRiverShoshoni was right.
Me & Bobby McGee
Kris Kristofferson, Fred Foster

Busted flat in Baton Rouge, waiting for a train
And I's feeling nearly as faded as my jeans.
Bobby thumbed a diesel down just before it rained,
It rode us all the way to New Orleans.

I pulled my harpoon out of my dirty red bandanna,
I was playing soft while Bobby sang the blues.
Windshield wipers slapping time, I was holding Bobby's hand in mine,
We sang every song that driver knew.

Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose,
Nothing don't mean nothing honey if it ain't free, now now.
And feeling good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues,
You know feeling good was good enough for me,
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee.

From the Kentucky coal mines to the California sun,
Hey, Bobby shared the secrets of my soul.
Through all kinds of weather, through everything that we done,
Hey Bobby baby kept me from the cold.

One day up near Salinas, Lord, I let him slip away,
He's looking for that home and I hope he finds it,
But I'd trade all of my tomorrows for one single yesterday
To be holding Bobby's body next to mine.

Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose,
Nothing, that's all that Bobby left me, yeah,
But feeling good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues,
Hey, feeling good was good enough for me, hmm hmm,
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee.

La la la, la la la la, la la la, la la la la
La la la la la Bobby McGee.
La la la la la, la la la la la
La la la la la, Bobby McGee, la.

La La la, la la la la la la,
La La la la la la la la la, hey now Bobby now Bobby McGee yeah.
Na na na na na na na na, na na na na na na na na na na na
Hey now Bobby now, Bobby McGee, yeah.

Lord, I'm calling my lover, calling my man,
I said I'm calling my lover just the best I can,
C'mon, where is Bobby now, where is Bobby McGee, yeah,
Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lord
Hey, hey, hey, Bobby McGee, Lord!

Yeah! Whew!

Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lordy Lord
Hey, hey, hey, Bobby McGee.

Absolutely we have a choice. And nations have choices as well. Whether individually or collectively as a nation, God wants us to do the right thing. And of course He is pleased when we do.

We definitely have the right to say no to the "all nations" prophecy, and I hope and pray that we as a nation continue to do so! Who said it would be fulfilled in our lifetime, or under this administration? My point is simply that it must happen sometime, and here's why.

You are correct in saying that the prophecy does not mean an eternal continuum. Seems to me it means that all nations that exist at the time of fulfillment will come against Israel. IMO, this has to happen because it is the only way that Israel will learn to return to God and rely on Him alone. He says that alot in prophecy, "and then you will know that I am the Lord..." Right now, it's so much easier to depend on the billions of dollars that she gets from the US, or the guaranteed military support she assumes she'll have if attacked by an enemy, than it is for her to lean on Jehovah. And it will happen at some point because God said it will. Not because He wants it to happen - do you think Jesus wanted Peter to betray Him three times? Of course not, but He knew Peter would, and even though Peter was horrified by the idea, he did it. We might be horrified at the idea that the US would turn on Israel, but people are imperfect people and God is God. And He alone knows the end from the beginning.

I believe in biblical prophecy largely because of Israel, her rebirth, against all odds, and her seemingly impossible survival, considering the armies that have attacked her. God said He would bring them back, and He did. He said all nations will come against Jerusalem, and I have no reason to believe that won't happen at some point. We've come pretty close in the past - didn't that seem a bit more likely under Clinton? Can you imagine the foreign policy nightmare we would be experiencing right now under Gore? And who knows if we will exist as we are today when it does happen. We may be rendered helpless somehow before that, because of our friendship with Israel; after all, there is no real definitive mention of the US. Anyway, I ramble. :) But all that said, I don't believe that doom is imminent. Bush can do the right thing, and since I trust that he may have God's ear a bit more than any other president in recent history, I still hold out that he will.

It's as if a powerful delusion has possessed the nations.

You got that right.

So did Clinton

Perhaps it is inevitable

Perhaps it is. And yes, Clinton did need prayer. It was hard, but I tried to pray for him too. But not as much as I should have.

Pray for the Messiah.

I pray that He comes soon, to set the wrongs right.
