WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A federal grand jury in New Jersey handed up an indictment Thursday against the lead suspect in the kidnapping and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.
Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh is charged with hostage taking and conspiracy to commit hostage-taking resulting in Pearl's death.

Some people were saying Omar couldn't be indicted in the U.S. for the Pearl case. Glad to see that isn't true. YEAY ASHCROFT!

It's still good news, though...especially if Pakistan actually EXTRADITES him.

Pakistan is officially saying that extradition is in the works for Omar, but that they intend to try him first.

"American will suffer if I am killed in a false encounter at their behest," Saeed said, referring to a high court decision that said he could be extradited to the United States as long as it was according to Pakistani law. I wish we had a president who was a warrior.

Thank you. He's probably praying that he does get extradited to the US, so he can live in a US prison and enjoy twenty years of appeals, plus conjugal visits from the self-hating white women who will write him fanmail.
