I love Fr. Groeschel with all my heart, but I near died when he said it -- a priest who loves the Church and his priesthood but is clearly in denial.

He's not in denial, he's just not bowing under the media onslaught. Cardinal Dulles mentioned that though the victims have been hurt severly, there are not that many nationwide. People tend to think there must be thousands because of the coverage, but as far as I've seen, it has only been in a few Dioceses, and involving a few priests. We hate it because it has hurt children severly, and we're angry that seemingly nothing was done to stop it. But let's not go overboard and blame ALL priests and ALL Bishops, because of the actions of a very few!

We can tear down the Faith of our fellow Catholics by OUR actions more than what those priests did. If we continue to harp and concentrate on the negative rather than think of positive things to do in our Parishes to spread the word of God, we WILL be responsible for a real crisis of Faith.

In the linked thread Donohue, whom I have always highly respected, sounds so PC he hardly makes any sense to me.
And homosexual clergymen make no sense to me.

I simply think that a man who knows he is burdened with the Cross of homosexuality is called differently (and no implications are meant by that) but the present times are so filled with smoke and mirrors that even many clergy don't think in terms of ordo anymore and most laity don't even know of it or can't listen. Take for example the recent events in Accokeek, Maryland, where the elected choice of the parish was refused by a radical left bishop, even to the point of involving the U S Government in what would be a totally religious situation...

Actually, I think both serve a purpose. If they all read like mine, he'd quickly tire of reading them. Then again, if they all read like yours, he wouldn't take them seriously. A good mix means there are a lot of people out there worrying about this.

I am glad you posted that. I had started looking myself as I tried to trace the history of the Bishop of Tucson,a mild man who got caught up in covering up an absolutely abominable situation. A pedophile montsignor,who threatened to blackmail him with information on all the hierarchy with whom he had slept,was moved around and promoted for years.(Sounds just like the Shanley situation in Boston,no?)Incidentally and this is important,Bishop Moreno admitted lying to the Vatican about the montsignor.The Bishops resignation was accepted when the scandal broke earlier this year. Bishop Moreno,the Tucson bishop was a Jabot appointment,so was Mahoney,as was Gumbleton. Jadot was responsible for all Bishops appointed between 73 and 80,and had a lot of influence on the Nuncio who followed him.

As we connect the dots,its interesting to note that Jadot was a Paul VI appointment.And the more I think about things the more I hope that the Pope tells those Cardianls to come home and clean up their messes rather than have others come in and take advice from the same wicked dodoes,who were advising them. While it may be that there are at least one half of our Bishops who are orthodox Catholics in union with the Magisterium under the Holy Father,we can be sure that the ones who need to be replaced have made appointment s that might sabotage and undermine new good men. I think these guys need to be held accountable for cleaning their own houses. As long as we are honestly told what is going on I have no problem,given the givens.

I read that article by Allen,who travelled around with that Kaiser person. Kaiser spent a lot of time serveral years ago trying to revive that sit-com that was nothing but a frontal attack on Catholicism,the program was called "Nothing Sacred".

The two of them Allen and Kaiser were trouping around my diocese last week-end. Our Bishop was also appointed by Jadot.My friends who attended the session said that both of the speakers were ill informed but that the old blue hairs who were there in support of the "agenda" are so programmed ,they didn't even understand that these men are no longer Catholic,and neither are they.

We must pray for the Pope and write the Papal Nuncio.

You are right,timing is of the essence. I read the e-mails between sister Judy,Cardinal mahoney's lawyer in matters of abuse and the cardianl. In skimming,a sentence stating "if we can just hold it together until July 1" caught my attention and I wondered. Some friends said not to worry that was vacation time and they thought they could get away for a month or two and everything would blow over. I still think something was/is supposed to tke place before July 1,but what?

And, when as happened in Accokeek, the choice of the parish is annulled, unilterally, and I might add, illegally by an ultraliberal Bishop, even to the point of utilizing the power of the state to ram that illegal annulment through, what then becomes of even the pretense of saying that the parisioners have a choice?

My point is, that the radical Left has infiltrated all Christian denominations, equally, and having gained positions of authority through whatever means, are bent on enforcing their views, that of "cafeteria Christianity" down the throats of an unwilling flock. The Catholic church is not alone in this problem, all denominations are affected, and to a discerning individual, this is no accident...

So, why is this being brought to a fever pitch at this time?

A simpler explanation, rather than harking to some sort of conspiracy, is that victims are no longer willing to be silenced.

victims are no longer willing to be silence It's obvious that victims in droves are coming forward, but why the sudden show of courage. Is it because the media for some reason is leading the charge? Watch out when the media goes into hysteria, they realy muddy the waters. "Victims" who are not victims come out for media exposure, which farther feeds the media frenzy, and very soon, we have a mob of "victims" out there. The result is a lynching of the Catholic Church.

To take place in July1,... I don't know either, but something does not smell right with the sudden media frenzy on this issue. A mob of "victims" are suddenly coming out of the woodwork. Before long, there will be a lynching of the Catholic Church led by the media. I maybe the lone voice from the desert on this, but the demonization of the Catholic Church using this issue, is getting out of hand. There's a mob out there ready for a lynching.
