Excuse the list of "topics", but I kept getting "this topic doesn't exist, and so I just clicked a bunch of them.

I'm reporting this story because it is an absolute invasion of destructive and unwelcome cruisers. Local government and letters to the editor always get divided along racial lines - if you complain you are a racist. It just won't go away.

I always love to drive down and stand on the beach for a while and fool around, but I cannot stand to be there during any of the big attractions. And, I am always afraid for my life if I get off of Broadway and take any of the side streets. One of the Galveston County sheriff deputies pulled me over on Bolivar two Decembers ago when I was going to Dickens. All I was doing was 60 in a 55 to keep from getting run over. I pulled over to let the guy behind me pass, almost got run over, and got stopped. Instead of using manpower to keep the jails full from the kind of malicious crap that happens at these party things, they fool with me. And Galveston County is supposed to be "Zero Tolerance?"

"Freaknik", the black college student spring break / local black thug street party, was here in Atlanta for several years in the early '90's. They were so obnoxious, even the black administration of the City of Atlanta (they knew better than to come out to the 'burbs) grew tired of the lawlessness and public debauchery, and policed it to the point where they left for greener pastures. Good riddance.

I've got to throw my two cents in here. I'm been on Galveston during Beach Party Weekend. I've had to watch as a gang of "party goers" chased down a white guy and beat him up ... for having the audacity to be there during "their" time ... as they put it.

I'm about as far from a prude as you can get.... I love a good party... and public nudity doesn't faze me a bit. A little chaos is good for everyone ... it lets out stress. BUT this event is the worse and most extreme thing I've ever seen. A warning to all : DO NOT BE ON GALVESTON DURING THIS TIME. It's dangerous for everyone... AND very dangerous if you are white.

Why is everyone here so afraid of the truth...the fact that Galveston has permitted savages to take over for two days. They have gotten exactly what they deserve.
