So I gather you have NOT read this PoS.

The word you are floundering around trying to spell is "hypocrisy" and could be applied to those claiming to know something about the Koran when they haven't even read it.

BTW the religious books of the other religions: Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish all contain great stores of wisdom and flights of great insight into the human condition as well as many lines of great poetic beauty. Not as much as the Bible but some. None of the above is in the Koran.

It reads just as you would suppose something collecting the sayings of an illiterate caravan thief would read. Crude, ugly stupid twisting of the earlier Torah and Bible. Without a shred of wisdom or insight or beautiful poetry. Read it or stop complaining when those who have point out truths about it. It is a complete waste of paper.

Anti-semitic propaganda usually doesn't fly here. The Talmud doesn't mention anything like that. Maybe you don't know this, but Yeshua was a pretty common name in Ancient Israel, and a lot of the tin-foil hat crowd love to jump on quotes that have nothing to do with the subject at hand and totally take them out of context.

"Not even close, the Gita is directed to a King on the verge of a gigantic battle. And there is no direction to kill in the name of God..."

You must have read the Gita about as closely as you read the Koran. In that same vein, I suppose you regard the Bible as a disjointed series of narratives about what assorted sheep herders did 2000 years ago?

I see the little warning is back.

Strange, it was gone for a bit on my reply application, but it is definitely back. I've had problems with my brower not loading things for a while now.

The muslims routinly erase churches and synagoyges and even buddist statues in areas they control..to complain about this is hypocracy at it's finest.

I forgot to spell check, so shoot me. As to "knowing" about the Koran, I never made that claim. All I said was that it was someone's Holy book and it is smart guy. You may not think its holy, but that's a long way from proving its not holy. I guess I didn't know one's holy book had to have stories. What about pictures? Does that make a book more holy?

Once I again I refer you to this quote: "I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods [religions, holy books, etc.], you will understand why I dismiss yours." - Stephen Roberts

What do you say to those who claim yourholy book is not holy and only worth ass wipe.

What do you get if you cross an insomniac, an agnostic and a dyslexic?
Someone who stays awake all night wondering if there's a dog.

This is is one of the most ignorant statement I've every heard. The Talmud was written before the birth of Christ.

99 out of 100 Christian American "conservatives" don't realize that the Talmud slanders Jesus Christ and his Blessed Mother in the most vulgar way. "Judeo-Christian" heritage, indeed.

Okay, smart guy. Why not clarify for all your readers that the Talmud is a man-made collection of (often conflicting) traditions and commentaries on the Scripture by (uninspired and fallible) rebbes.

The Old Testament Scriptures, brought to us by the medium of inspired Jewish writers not only do NOT disparage Yeshua (or Mary), but, rather, PREDICT and FORETELL the coming (both First and Second Advents) of Yeshua in many dramatically clear ways.

Fess up, Jew-hater.

No. This time you are wrong. Yes, the Talmud contains many traditions that predate the birth of Christ, but it also contains passages that are as recent as the Middle Ages.

Bold Fenian is technically correct, but he is obviously motivated by a hatred of the Jews. (See my post #69 to him.)

It seems like every day, I get a message from Microsoft saying they want to download a new fix to their browser. What a piece of junk. But with Netscape using the government as a club, I won't use their software.

First off, I don't think the story is true, but please tell me you don't think wiping one's ass with the Koran is OK.

Krishna teaches Arjuna on the eve of a great battle not to become paralyzed by the fact that friend and relatives are in both armies and are subject to death. He teaches him to distinguish between the temporal body and the immortal soul and how the demands of the two are not the same.

Outwardly performing all actions but inwardly renouncing their fruits, the wise man, purified by the fire of transcendental knowledge, attains peace, detachment, forebearance, spiritual knowledge and bliss.

As you state I have read it with the same degree of understanding as I did the Koran. And it is obvious that nothing in the Koran comes close to the wisdom and beauty of the Gita.

What do you think the story is about? Or have you not read either?

The Bible is the greatest piece of literature ever written as a minimum. Even agnostics and atheists have to admit that. There are throwaway lines of amazing wisdom and beauty. NOthing in the Koran comes close to the Bible and many of its stories are just sick, twisted versions of Bible stories. Ishmael (everyman's hand is against him and his hand is against every man- sayeth the Lord) is the favorite son while Isaac is cast out according to Mad Mo(piss be upon his head.)

Second, I was raised to respect all religious beliefs whether I believed them or not. In my mind, to use any religious writing in such a manner, whether you believed in that religion or not, would be wrong.

That's why I luv ya Linda :-)
