****CONDIT NAILED!**** Prosecutors Set to Indict on Obstructing Police Investigation
Nat'l Enquirer World Exclusive ^ | June 19, 2002 Issue | Mile Walker-Executive Editor

Posted on 06/07/2002 7:17:46 AM PDT by codebreaker

Prosecutors are set to indict the congressman on charges that he has tried to stymie the investigation into Chandra's disappearance and death, sources close to the investigation have revealed.

What's more the sources say several pieces of evidence have convinced investigators that Condit is linked to Chandra's murder.

The issue that goes on sale Friday reveals what happened when Condit appeared before a Federal Grand Jury.

You bet, their reporters have been on a roll lately, ask Jesse Jackson and Rodger Clinton.

Occasionally the Enquirer gets one right. We'll see. I hope they are. Condit is despicable, whether he was in on Chandra's murder, or not.

Now, of course this is a National Enquirer exclusive, so it has about a 50% chance of being correct. Plus, the banner headline is *Condit Nailed!* while the actual story is on obstruction of justice, which is a no-brainer, of course.

The only reason why they might have waited so long do to this is the hope of nailing him for murder. Personally, I think if they indict him for obstruction, they've given up on the murder charge.

If they indict Condit on obstruction of justice, they will presumably also indict his staffers, unless they cooperate with the investigation. That may lead to cracking the murder case.

I guess my point was that on the supermarket stands the headline will be *Condit Nailed!* with none of the qualifiers.

Still... that is superior to the NY times.

Oh no! Poor Mark Geragos. How can he defend Wynona on one coast and Condit on another! Worms can reproduce by cutting them in two, but he is a snake not a worm. Woe is me! So many slimy clients and so few lawyers who can get the Larry King schmooze booking at the drop of a hat.
