My pc friends would call me heartless but I say he should have done this long before he did it to those others. He finally did the right thing.

Yep. No trial. No whining lawyers. No appeals. No whining lawyers. No candlelight vigils held by psycho-sympathizers. No whining lawyers...

...And many families have some kind of closure. I suppose he killed himself because the police weren't following the case quite the way he wanted, and so he figured he'd give himself a name by ensuring we never now exactly how many, or whom or where, he killed. Still, one less on the streets.
