At least you people are allowed to have guns. Here in the Netherlands you got no right to self-defence, just the right to be mugged or raped.

--someone from Commiefornia can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is about the same legislative technique that has wiped out every firearms dealership in Oakland and it took lots less than three generations--

My letter to the editor was published in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about this and I got an Anthrax threat!

I also sent letters to each of the council members and find it rather interesting that Twanda Carlisle abstained, since this was her reply to me:

My response is one that I know the NRA will not like however I do not
want
any gun sales in the 9th district - it's easy enough for these young
people
to get guns what make it any easier.

Some of them are and some of the aren't. Squirrel Hill - mostly upscale, Jewish; Carson St on South Side - Yuppie; Hill District and Bloomfield - low income, minorities.
District Maps and links to the reps for those areas:
http://www.city.pittsburgh.pa. us/council/html/map_of_distric ts.html
Gun ban directly affects: Murray Avenue in Squirrel Hill (Zone 8), Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield (Zone 4), Carson Street on the South Side (Zone 3), portions of Wylie Avenue in the Hill District (Zone 6) and many other smaller business districts citywide.
From Twanda Carlisle - Councilwoman for District 9 (extremely high crime area)
