It appears many Mexicans have an inferiority complex link to their nationality in comparison to the U.S.

They're so sad to lose to the U.S., yet for many of them coming here to live is their ultimate dream, and they keep flocking here in droves, some legally, many not.

My brother was in the Peace Corps in El Salvador and married a girl from down there. She was the envy of her friends and family because she was going to get a free pass to "Tierra del Oro", the Land of Gold. They thought she was going to live like royalty for the rest of her life, and, by comparison to those she left behind, she has. I wonder how many of our friends south of the border feel likewise?

They hate us for the same reason baseball fans hate the Yankees....we're the best at everything and thoroughly dominate year after year, be it sports, war, technology, entertainment, you name it.

For us to now threaten in the ONE thing that the world could always count on us stinking at....well, it's just too much for them.

Agree 100%. Call me naive but I thought that concepts like 'sportsmanship' still had a place in competitions like the World Cup. The Mexican disgraced themselves, not by losing but by their behavior while losing (one of them actually kneed an American player who was down on the ground), all witnessed by hundreds of millions on TV. Here in Singapore I can watch a lot of the matches live, and I am really enjoying the pained looks on the locals' faces (compulsive gamblers, one and all) as they consistently put their money against the USA, and consistently lose it...

I say let's take our soldiers that are guarding the South Korean border and put them on the Mexican border. The world is full of ingrates, with these two countries being the worst.

Ditto. I suppose that poster doesn't live in an area of a Southwestern state where the taxes have gone through the roof to support the medical and education freebies these people take advantage of. They come here by the millions, illegally, for economic reasons. If their fellow Mexicans can afford to go to Korea for a soccer game, damnit, they can foot the medical, etc. bills of their countrymen. I'm sick of the US being the flop-house and welfare office of the world.

South Korea has had a burr under their saddle ever since the South Korean short track skater was disqualified in the 2002 Olympics.

After the way Roy Jones Jr. beat the hell out of that guy and got screwed in Seoul, they really shouldn't whine all that much.

There are people in Mexico that are far wealthier than your limited intellect can imagine. And we have our share of criminals and free-loaders on this side of the border. Heck, look at Congress.

There are reasons for removing our troops from South Korea and reasons for keeping them there. To remove the troops because the South Koreans rooted against us in a sporting event is beyond immature and stupid.
