Washington, June 18 (Bloomberg) -- The moderator at the National Press Club wanted to make it perfectly clear yesterday. His three guests were appearing reluctantly. ``This was our idea,'' he said, ``not theirs.''

Ben Bradlee agreed. ``We don't really like to talk about it,'' he said.

Only bringing up Watergate to try and tar Republicans with it this Fall. How come we needed to move on with clinton and monicagate, but they love to bring up Watergate that happened 30 years ago? Why aren't we moving on with Watergate? At least Nixon was honorable and resigned unliked clinton! Typical DemocRATs if you ask me! Not to mention that Woodward is definitely not shy about being on TV and talking about it!

Because the Liberal Socialist/Nationalists haven't a thing else to beat, use or even think about.

""...OH, OH! Maybe NOW we will actually find out who "DEEP THROAT" is!..."

WRONG! The only ID of any deep throat will be Linda Lovelace.

Watergate was the only time the Biased socialist-media ever was successful in bringing down a President. They love it! These are Democrat Party workers. They will do it again.

``It didn't start with Watergate.'' And indeed it didn't. What set Watergate apart was the sheer concentration of criminality -- Nixon managed to do all of the above, all at once - - along with the rationale that he and his martinets used to justify their crimes.

Not much of a political historian is this guy. But what the hay, when the Dems have paragons of virtue like Bill Moyers passing judgement...Who can argue with that?

Sorta like Stepie lecturing the current administration about ethics. Gag me.

These guys are like Bob Hope, Milton Berle and George Burns; no matter how tired their material, they won't leave the stage until they are six-foot under.

Apparently, these people don't realize what buffoons they will look like in the secret history books that will survive Hitlary's reign.

That is so true! And for them to say that they don't like to do this makes me want to laugh! Give me a break -- they love every minute of it!

Two things set Watergate apart from acts of the Kennedy and Johnson Administrations (and probably most others):

1) The break-in & bug crew got caught in the act.

2) Nixon made tapes.

Not that I want to sound like a Nixon apologist. Nixon was a statist, a Keynesian pinko, and dangerous. That said, since 9/11 I've thought that these times call for Nixon (to replace Colin Powell, not as President!).

The recent remembrances of Watergate serve nothing more than to try to remind the public about the republican scandals and how a Republican President nearly ruined the country.

I don't recall a major involvement in the 25th anniversary of watergate. Perhaps because a republican is president? (even if he's a bit less conservative than I'd like him to be)

Nixon saved the country dude it was pretty close to collapse in 68. He did some liberal things but congress had a veto proof margin of socialist( this excuse does not apply to Bush).

This is so obvious - this is another democrat "projection" plan. It says, seeeeeee, the repubs did it too. A repub president was impeached (which Nixon WAS NOT), the repubs did bad things - so there, everybody does it. Seeeee Clinton's not that bad.

Sorry, I forgot the barf alert!!!
