If the author and his ilk have a problem with the Constitution and people like me, burn the former and shoot the latter (if you dare), because it is indeed better to die standing up, than to beg for mercy on one's knees."
I second that amendment.
All in favor say aye.

Those worrying about the erosion of liberty in this time of crisis often quote Benjamin Franklin, who said, "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." The problem with this advice is that it is well over two centuries old, and no one back then could have imagined the dangers we face today.I do not expect such a comment from a Christian. While our world certainly is ever-changing, human nature is not. We Christians have a Bible full of stories from thousands of years ago, but the lessons are as applicable today as they were back then.

These days on FR, you need a blinking banner to alert of the satire in the post to make sure you don't get a dozen replies that are off the mark."
Try this.........It's night time...your walking on a dark, deserted street...You feel someone stick something in your back and say "stick 'em up"...you whip around and put 4 holes in the guy with your concealed .380... he falls dead at your feet...turns out he was a kid fooling with you and it was his finger he stuck in your back...Is he still dead?

To: sheltonmac
After all, how can liberty be enjoyed if one cannot feel safe? How can one enjoy life when one is soooooo stupid?
Oh, I see he's got a BS degree. (wink, wink)

"Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters."

"You forgot to post this tiny little bit." Dang! How in the world could I have forgotten that crucial little bit of information? You have to admit that it made for a more interesting thread, no?

Your right; this has been an ongoing assualt -
"The American people must be willing to give up a degree of personal privacy in exchange for safety and security."

Funny - except this is another tact used by the left to steal freedoms
"[the United States] can't be so fixed on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans."
Bill Clinton - Piscataway, NJ - March 1, 1993
