Give'em Hell Mark!!! You da MAN!!! If anyone can SQUASH the leftist NEA you can!
To: wcdukenfield
Are these hearings going any place? Or are they just another one of those "we'll listen to the complaints so we can say we listened to the complaints" type of deals?
(I fear the latter, though I seriously appreciate Landmark's efforts)

I'm glad to see it'll be webcast. Somebody who wakes up early ought to post the link to the webcast tomorrow around 8:30, Eastern time.
And remember: "Workforce" means "conditioned, dumbed-down serfs," brought to you by the century-long work of a few private corporate foundations who want to mold the thoughts and actions of America's children.

Weakening the NEA is the single most important domestic initiative. The NEA controls the minds and pursestrings of the Leftist liberal agenda and has infiltrated every aspect of social/educational policy in the last 25 years or so. Many educators fear the NEA's power and fear what can happen to them if they criticize the NEA. I wish Mr. Levin the best for all our sakes!

Exactly correct. They have now included in that agenda trying to foist homosexual "tolerance" and values on students.
So, for all those President Bush defenders out there, I ask this very simple question.
What has W done to take on the NEA today, yesterday, this week, this month, this year?
If he won't carry the torch for conservatives on an issue against a group that lobbies and finances his opponents at every turn and opposes every value that made this country great he _cannot_ be considered a Conservative.
For those posters who blabber on about "tactical" this and "Congressional Election" that I ask you:
Why won't Bush take on this insidious leftist group? Why won't he expose their vicious attempts to brainwash the children of America?

Yep, everything is going well. Went on my first freep yesterday. The Washington crew is great.
Taxman says hello back!

I think Mark is great and I know he will do a good job at the hearing. I simply have no faith or confidence in the House or the Senate or the Justice Department to do anything at all about the abuses of the scumbag teachers union. Everybody will get outraged and then it will all just fade away. None of these scumbag union punks or NEA mice will get indicted or spend a single day in jail, and they likely will not even face any penalties whatsoever. Hell, they'll probably get promoted!
(yawn) Wake me up when some government scumbag finally goes to jail.

I second that emotion. NEA is nothing but a bunch of loud mouthed socialists. The left gained the podium in the '60's and '70's by yelling and being persistant as hell. It's beyond time we got a bit more vocal ourselves. I'm so sick and tired of PC and public 'education' I could puke! I love Mark because he does NOT MINCE WORDS.

Ping. As a note, my 13-year-old came and looked over my shoulder last night when I was reading the "resolutions" I downloaded. I was on section I again and he asked what I was reading, so I told him it what it was. He just skimmed part of it and asked, "Isn't this about politics? What does this have to do with education? Um.. mom, so this is 64 pages of.. uh.. garbage?" Out of the mouth of babes.

What does this have to do with education? LOL!! Just goes to show you that 13 year olds have more sense than our politicians. I love it.
To: cgbg
Apparently you are unaware that the NEA is whining because the accountability standards in the education bill are too hard. If the schools do not meet those standards, the money is not there and will follow the children to another school.
The net effect of this is that if these whiners want to keep their jobs, they are going to have to teach children to read, rather than engaging in a lot of social nonsense. The NEA is now in the position of being against the education bill and admitting that some of their members CANNOT TEACH.
In my opinion, the decline in influence of the NEA will follow, as their true nature becomes apparent.
Much better to handle it this way, rather than setting oneself up to be portrayed as the "enemy of education." In other words, there is more than one way to skin a cat.
