Sisters Run Away, Cite Mom's Homosexuality

HOUSTON -- Two teenage sisters vowed Tuesday to not return to their mother until she changes her homosexual lifestyle, according to a News2Houston report.
The girls, 17 and 15 years old, said their religious faith played a role in their decision to run away from home, but it wasn't their main reason. They said that they believe their mother's homosexuality is wrong.

There was an interesting study recently. The finding said that the overarching reaction to homosexuality is not fear, as in "homophobia." Instead, the overarching reaction is disgust.

The authorities will soon have these girls forced to attend "sensitivity" training, and they will have to either spend their nights at home with mom, or in juvenile hall. Their "intolerance" will be denounced in their school, and they will suddenly have no friends. And no, they will not be allowed to attend church.
Now, if the tables were turned:
If the girls were lesbians, and ran away from mom so they could "be free to pursue their alternative lifestyle", they would be lionized, treated as heroes. Oprah would interview them and "tsk, tsk" their mother's "misguided intolerance". Their mother would lose custody to the state. The girls would get book deals. The mother would get a restraining order and hefty lawyer fees.

Haven't read the linked story. But, if this story gets any broader coverage in the general media, it will paint the extreme conservative views of the young religious right wingers as the aberrant behavior rather than the faggitude perversions of their mother.
