Klayman, like some other commentators, was a little bit quick on the draw. Did he have the grace (like Fred Barnes for one) to say he was wrong?

Larry's expertise is in foreign policy.

He'll tell you that himself.

Boy Im impressed. This was posted several days after Bush said that Arafat has to go if the Palestinians are ever to have a state of their own. In addition to the eliminination of Arafat, the Pali's have to create a real legislature and court system, hold elections, write a constitution, STOP terrorism. They can move towards this state three years after this is done. Before the process can even begin, Arafat has to go. What do you think the chances of that happening any time soon?

Klayman should jump back in his sewer. He brings the same stupidity to this foreign policy analysis that he does to his judical feats.

Larry is... err... very "special." Still, a little bit of what he does is good, even if he's a bit out there.

Larry Klayman has always been a strong proponent of a free market economics, but I was never under the impression that he was a Libertarian.

This country is collectively - and now, apparently all the way to the top - behaving like a bunch of frightened mice. The correct response to the 9/11 episode, for an Empire such as ours, dealing with the barbarian Arabs, would be to see to it that their actions produce *exactly* the *opposite* result of that which they intended:

1. The complete elimination of Palestine and the forced dispersal of the Palestinian people into the neighboring Arab states,
2. The overthrow by force of ALL of the Arab governments in the Middle East which are in support of Islamic fundamentalism,
3. The guarantee of Israel's permanent existence in the Middle East.

We should be sending a message to the Arabs that al-Quaida, and the Arabs by their tolerance - much less support - of Al-Quaida, have ended up causing to happen, by our response, exactly the opposite of that which they were trying to accomplish by attacking us. That is the only message which these infantile barbarians on the fringe of the Empire are capable of understanding, and for us to acquiesce and give them a Palestinian State is therefore exactly the oppositeof the correct response.

If, in the aftermath of 9/11, Bush rewards the Pile-of-slime-ians with a sovereign State under any circumsatances, he is an absolute idiot.

I loved the President's speech. He put all of the Arabs in a Machiavellian bind. He took the Palestinians off the table with the Saudi's, which they were using to deflect attention away from their financial support of those out to kill us (and all of the American Lefties have been working to help them with that ploy). He will save us lots of foreign aid to the Palestinians when they reelect Arafat, and to boot, he's washed his hands of the play-like (remember that childhood phrase?) U.S. involvement in a 'peace' process with ARAFAT, a lifetime murderer of anyone who gets in his way, Jew or not.

What a crock!!! Bush had already accepted a Pali state before 9/11. Powell made a speech about it on 9/11.

Hey, you always bait me for being 20, but if you are a big DC Talk fan, you can't possibly be over 25. If so, it could be that you are an adult who still thinks that Carmen is cool too. LOL!

Mr. Bush is the President of the United States of America.

How can he "announce"the creation of a state?, provisional or otherwise.

I like Bush but is there no limit to egomania?

Has anyone really considered the consequence of establishing a Palestinian state - the consequence to itself?

Think about it: right now (aside from the ongoing "you slap me, I slap you" games) the Palestinians are basically part of a second-world nation, with various benefits thereof. Decent jobs are available, standard gov't services are provided, basic food & goods & services are available, etc.

BUT...should a separate state be created, can it survive? With practically no farming or industry or ports of its own, with much of the jobs severely reduced by a new real border with real checkpoints & visas, with no gov't services provided or subsidized by its current reluctant supporter, with no apparent motivation on the citizens' parts toward self-sufficiency, and with a total size so small as to be practically impotent in all national/international matters, creating a Palestinian state would regress the Palestinians to a seriously third-world status with no hope or purpose except war.

Perhaps the strategy SHOULD be "give 'em enough rope and they'll hang themselves". As an occupied territory, they'll whine & moan forever. As a soveriegn nation, methinks they'll regress (either on their own or as consequence to attacking Israel) to the natural state of the region: barren wasteland. Maybe Bush is onto something...
