Richard Jewell/FBI/ Muslim connection? (60 Minutes II)
L. Ray | 6/27/02 | L. Ray

Posted on 06/27/2002 8:20:54 AM PDT by SerpentDove

In regard to the Atlantic bombing story on 60 Minutes II this evening, did anyone notice that the "out-of-the-way coffee shop" where the FBI met Richard Jewell and his attorney, in order to let them no that he was not a suspect in the Atlanta bombings, just happened to be a "Caribou Coffee" shop?

A coffee chain owned by Muslim supporter(s) and basically people who rally behind the radical Palestinians in the Middle East.  They recently condemned Starbucks' Israeli owner of anti-Muslim rhetoric at  a speech given by him in Seattle (earlier in June '02, I believe)? An accusation, by the way, that was condemned by most of the press that covered that story a week or two ago.

Coincidence?

(The "Caribou Coffee" sign was in  the background of your footage of that location.)

From Richard Jewell story transscript (6-26-02 - 60 Minutes II):

"In late October of 1996, the U.S. Attorney finally wrote a letter saying Jewell was not considered a target of the federal criminal investigation - a statement delivered to one of Jewell's lawyers at an out-of-the-way coffee shop, far away from the TV cameras."

Just curious.

REBLOCHON

nom

Lait de Vache
Forme: Rond

Yes. Total coincidence.

I saw the interview last night and Mike Wallace said something that gave me a little respect for him: he reminded the viewers that in all the hoopla and media spin about Richard Jewell's and the false accusation that came from the inept Reno Justice Depeartment we forget that on that day in Atlanta, Richard Jewell saved lives.

Poor Richard was chosen as the prime suspect for the Atlanta bombing because he was a white male; he fit the profile. The Clinton influenced FBI wanted to blame all terrorism on conservative right wing fanatics. In my opinion, the Olympic bombing could very well have been done by Arabs. There really was no investigation in that direction. I notice that more and more people are talking about the Middle-Eastern connection in the Oklahoma City bombing. It is a frightening thought that American citizens could be recruited into a war against America.

Who's slandering Richard Jewell? It's just kind of an ironic observation my friend made which I posted for "discussion."

Sheesh...I guess I thought this was a forum or something.

I sure hope Jewell scored well in his lawsuits that were settled. BTW, has anyone seen Eric Rudolph lately? Hahaha
