She was a great big band singer and a popular singer in the 40's and 50's. She had a wonderful voice and was I believe George Clooney's mother.

How sad. I remember her singing when I was a little girl. More recently, she had guest starred on ER with her nephew George, the hunk.

She performed a great duet with Marlene Dietrich, Too Old to Cut the Mustard. Funny record. Great singer (Clooney.)

She was in White Christmas with Bing Crosby and quite a few other shows. Very talented and classy lady.
And quite a looker when she was young.
