That is bullsh*t! Weight training = muscle. Muscle is active tissue. It burns fat just by sitting there on your body. Therefore, adding muscle will most certainly raise your metabolism for as long as you keep the muscle.

If you know of a way to add muscle without lifting weights, please share....

I'm sorry, I clipped some of my above response. Weight training will raise your metabolism in the short and long term. If you engage in a hearty 45 minute or so session of weight training, you will see short term metabolic changes as well as long term.

OK, I will keep it simple since you have too much muscle in your brain. I SAID that having a lot of muscle mass would raise your metabolism. I SAID THAT!!! Did you even read my post?

Anaerobic exercise DOES NOT DIRECTLY BURN FAT. AEROBIC EXERCISE DOES!!!

I could go in to further detail if you want but be aware that I STATED THAT EXTRA LEAN MUSCLE MASS MADE YOUR METABOLIM HIGHER. Ok?

Yes, I'd like to know as well. I've noticed that as one grows older, the ability to do physical "stuff" becomes a bit more painful. That stuff, of course, includes lifting weights. Hasn't stopped me, though. Just slowed down a bit. :^)

BTW, those were some very good numbers you presented earlier.
