Shezza, kids "disappear" for short periods all the time, it's not that unusual. Most parents will call around to neighbors and friends--anyone seen Johnny? And one will finally say yes, he's playing with Timmy in the back yard. I've never heard of anyone calling 911, then looking for the child--unless it's an infant who could not have gotten some place on its own.

Unless she suddenly put 2 and 2 together about the alarms and the door and figured there may be a link. And it's entirely possible that Brenda was truly hysterical because she loved her daughter.
