Losing patience with the U.N.: Henry Lamb shows global gov is anti-U.S.
WorldNetDaily.com ^ | Saturday, July 13, 2002 | Henry Lamb

Posted on 07/12/2002 11:20:45 PM PDT by JohnHuang2

Tommy Thompson, secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, went to Barcelona earlier this week to speak to the U.N.'s 14th International Conference on AIDS.

He was booed and shouted down for 15 minutes by ActUp activist-idiots.

This could not have happened without U.N. approval. The U.N. carefully screens all applications for attendance, accredits those organizations it allows to participate and refuses to allow other organizations to enter. Moreover, security at these meetings is intense – inside the buildings as well as outside.

At the U.N. conference in Rome, at which the International Criminal Court was adopted in 1998, my organization, Sovereignty International, was not allow to participate as a non-government organization. We sent a representative as a reporter. We tried to distribute some of our literature which expressed opposition to the ICC. It was immediately removed from the tables, and we were instructed not to try to further distribute our "unapproved" material.

At virtually every U.N. climate change meeting, for which our organization is accredited, our literature is systematically removed from display tables and our written comments to the delegates are systematically withheld.

The U.N. controls these meetings with an iron fist.

Two years ago, U.S. Ambassador Frank Loy, got a pie in the face, thrown by idiot activists.

At Durban, South Africa, U.S. delegates were ridiculed at a U.N. Conference on Human Rights, and they walked out. They did the right thing.

Tommy Thompson should have walked out of the conference in Spain. The U.S. should walk out of the entire U.N. fiasco.

The U.N. allows, if not encourages, these events because it wants to use the media attention to embarrass the U.S. into submission. The U.N. is not satisfied with the amount of money the U.S. is contributing to AIDS, or to anything else on the U.N. agenda.

Much of the money we do contribute through the U.N. never gets to the intended recipients, but goes to administrative uses, including paying for most of the delegates to attend these international conferences so they can ridicule the U.S. in front of the world media.

Enough, already. The United States should simply stop sending money to the U.N. Period. Not another penny should be spent on any agency within this organization until a congressional committee reviews the work of the agency and certifies that its work is consistent with the policies, principles and goals of the U.S.

Most of the work of the U.N. is not consistent with the policies and principles of the U.S. In fact, the U.N. operates on a socialist philosophy. The U.N.'s Agenda 21, the bible of "sustainable development," preaches a doctrine completely opposite of America's vision of individual freedom, free enterprise and limited government empowered by the consent of the governed.

It is high time that U.S. citizens recognize this reality and tell the government to stop flushing U.S. dollars down the U.N. sewer. The United States should ignore the U.N., beginning with the World Summit on Sustainable Development scheduled to take place in Johannesburg, South Africa, in August. U.S. delegates should not give these global-governance activists the opportunity to use the media to ridicule the U.S. again.

The president should not even consider attending this event.

For more than 50 years, the U.S. has propped up the U.N. only to be slapped in the face by its proponents at every opportunity. It will only get worse.

The United States should not withdraw from the world; we should lead the world. Instead of wasting our money on U.N. programs, we should help those nations that want to discover the principles of freedom – nations that want to let their people learn how to enjoy the God-given rights they have been denied.

All people should be free to acquire knowledge – unfiltered by the state. All people should be free to express their opinions – without fear of prosecution by the state. All people should be free to control their own government – instead of being controlled by it.

The Johannesburg conference proposes to impose Agenda 21 on the world. The United States should be about sharing Freedom 21 with the world – advancing the principles of freedom in the 21st century.

I'd hoped W would get us out of the UN, but I no longer hold such hopes. I don't understand his giving credibility to the ICC and the UN by signing onto that 12 mo. exemption deal. The NWO is alive and well, and obviously owns our pols at the highest levels. Just the disregard for our dignitaries should be enough, yet it seems there is no abasement we won't accept from these people.

The US officials are complicit in the formation of a New World Order. They would not accept the humiliation imposed upon them, if it wasn't for public consumption back home. It makes good press to see some individual suffering ridicule for standing up against the latest UN initiative. Just as we saw the administration stand up to the ICC, then capitulate when we got a one year exemption.

Anybody that had any regard for our sovereignty would have told them to shove it forever. This has happened time after time and is no accident. The socialist technique of incremental advances toward world government is being used to keep the restless natives subdued in their quest for freedom from a world dictatorship.

But of course...Article 30
Nothing in this Declaration may be interpreted as implying for any State, group or person any right to engage in any activity or to perform any act aimed at the destruction of any of the rights and freedoms set forth herein.

Resistance is futile.
You will be assimilated.

Long ago, God showed us what to expect in this post-Christian era: "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. From such people turn away!"

If Bush is intending to get the US out of the UN it will be in the beginning of his second term. If he does it before it will give the left too much fodder. A move this grand will take some time to sell to the sheeple. Im' sure he could go it but he needs to gain control of the senate and keep the house. He also needs to get rid of McCain and the other RINO's.

Dear George and All: How so very right you are. We as the most powerful country on Earth, and as the most compassionate country, need not be in the United Nations at all! We have the force to keep the peace and we have the will to help others....this is why we are hated so very much! These other countries still want nothing less than dictatorship....with a pinch of democracy, just to make them sort of look benevolent, while they spill hate propaganda against us as a "dictatorship" trying to take over! Thus, trying to paint the United States as a corporate capitalist, elitists group of a few that would dominate our own citizens and the world in general!

Hogwash! The American dream is still alive and well! Anyone in this country can still grow up and be what they want to be! Don't get me wrong, there are still social status issues, but and I refer to Molly Brown...the Invincible Molly Brown.....this is the place to be free and grow and develop and be anything you can be! That is what America is all about! This is why we are so hated! There is no totaltalarianism in our country as others still lust after!

However, there are those in our own country spreading this kind of rhetoric and propaganda and I feel they should be viewed as traitors and considered treacherous and as such tried for their treason!

Free speech is one of our most sacred rights, however there is a line to be drawn when those that would infiltrate to destroy the sovereignty of a nation undermining the very concepts of what that nation was founded on abusing the First Admendment! That is the very definition of treason! If not what else is?

Yes we must get out of the UN, albeit,we still have to deal with the concept of the UN.... the UN can not be taken lightly, nor ignored, but one that we refuse to be a part of when we can and still do set a wonderful example of freedom and what it really means to be free!

What really needs to change is the voting system to pass the UN budget. There should be an additional requirement to allocate votes proportional to the expenditures of each nation for the UN. I would include not only dues but also peace keeping and other expenditures in this total. That way the US would automatically have at least a 25% vote on the budget.
