It shows that the "Majority Rules" standard does not apply in America.

Thank goodness for that, at least when it comes to our inalienable rights. A line from Exodus strikes me as appropriate here: "Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil."

It seems evident that a lot of FReepers still don't understand our type of government and the reasons our founders wanted nothing to do with majority (mob) rule.

A "practicing Jew" is someone who believes in G*D and observes the commandments in the Torah.

Very likely he celebrates eight day exmass (Hanukah).

Here's one for you.

A thousand years ago somewhere in Europe a pious Rabbi had a dream one night. An angel appeared and said,

There is a continent across the Atlatic Ocean and a thousand years from there will be Jews living there and this is how they will celebrate Hanukah.
The Rabbi then sees the partying, the gift giving, the all around revelry. Then he wakes up and says to himself,
If that's how they celebrate Hanukah, just imagine how they must celebrate Shevous!

Would it interfere with the right the Ninth Circuit said he has to determine the religious upbringing of his daughter?

Huh? Since when does the Court of Appeals of the 9th Circuit have the right to determine the religious upbringing of his daughter?

Or were you being sarcastic?

If I understood the mother correctly, Newdow is an atheist who celebrates certain Jewish holidays much like many people celebrate Christmas who do not necessarily believe in the beliefs that the holiday celebrates. She said that both of his parents are atheists--I assume that they must be Jewish as well. The mom said that she was not aware of his atheist leanings when they were together; that emerged later.

Sorry I missed both interviews.

But couldn't perjury on his part be a reason the ruling is thrown out?

Do we know that he committed perjury? In other words, do we know for a fact that he was dishonest about his custody arrangements with the girl's mother?

he is using the courts as a weapon

You have hit the nail on the head about this man. What he is doing to his daughter is abysmal and must make this mother's life miserable. When Rita asked her about what she thought about this case as it started, she said that she was too busy in court about other matters to give it much thought. In other words, this man has been busy in court making life very difficult for this little girl and her mom. They need our prayers. BTW, when school started last week for the daughter, she led the school in saying the pledge of alliance! Ha!

It seems to me that not enough attention is being focused on the learned (?) judges who were obviously flim-flammed. And who were/are the learned (?) attorneys opposing the father's case?

Were there no background checks or investigations ever conducted during this lengthy litigation? It appears everything the father stated and represented to the Court was false but was taken as gospel, if you pardon the expression.

Of course, this is California's Ninth Circuit we're talking about here. The pinko judges involved evidently couldn't wait to sink their fangs into this case, the truth be damned!

They should be unrobed, removed from the Bench and sent into exile for the rest of their unnatural lives.

"The main thrust of this case is not my daughter, it's me," he said.

It was E.D. who first got Newdow to admit that on "Fox & Friends" a couple weeks ago. E.D. hammered on that like a news reporter should. She was great!

Re prejudice...

Like 'bias' I think that the negative connotation has been allowed to attach itself over years.

Simply a 'predilection' toward or away from anything means a tendancy, maybe a closed mind, it does not mean what we have come to understand it as being: opposition or 'hate'.

However, in common use it is a negative, which leads me to ask...if I cannot exercise a bias in making decisions, what good is experience?

Oh, to return to the subject at hand, Newdow is a creep and he has used the court system as a bludgeon against both his non-family and the larger society. He has weakened the system and should be punished by the system for wasting it's time and confusing it's fabric. Maybe the ninth circuit court should be made to defend him in front of the Supremes?

he is abusing the court system, plus he is a LIAR.

I'm wonder if he could now be disbarred.....lying under oath as an attorney.....bringing up a knowingly false and frivolous suit....the courts could also sanction him (money-wise and disbarment) for this.

This changes things completely...on where he stands in line on Judgement Day.

"Newdow? Oh, you're the Jew who wanted to remove your Lord's name from any and everything in the public square...Stand over there, with the turncoat Jews who supported the WWII Nazi's...See that little guy with the square mustache?"

Do we know that he committed perjury?

That's what I'm asking.

If he did, could the original suit be thrown out because of that?

"...He is using the court to harass the mother. He should be arrested."

BINGO...I think you just solved the real reason for his suit.

The man-Newdow -has had his 15 minutes of fame--which was his main goal.

Did I read somewhere that Newdow's goal is to have the words "In God We Trust" removed from the currency? I think this jerk is just warming up.

Yes, and probably heard that, too. He admitted to such a thing on Fox. That was what he wanted, but he said that he deduced it would be easier to win a suit on the "under God" phrase. When asked if he will pursue in court the phrase on the money, I don't recall him denying that he will do that, eventually........
