Bless the little girl who was a witness and bless her parents for allowing her to be interviewed by the authorities. Pray for her and her family, as well as the parents of of Samantha Runnion.

"Amber alert issues a statewide emergency broadcast alert to the public as soon as a kidnapping by a stranger is reported. The goal is to make members of the public aware of what is going on before the suspect can leave the area. "
This could be an excellent tool. Coupled with a well armed citizen militia an little training for car checks and you have a way of quickly shutting down escape routes. Oh, wait, California, no citizen allowed to have guns, well, so much for that idea. You know, this could be an excellent tool--in Texas or Mississippi or ....

It already is an excellent tool in Texas and, in fact, was formed and is named after a little girl that was kidnapped and murdered in Arlington, Texas. Her name was Amber.

"There was no immediate response from the governor, who earlier in the day authorized a $50,000 contribution to the reward fund for the apprehension of Samantha's killer."
Typical liberal response. Throw money at a problem but make no effort to find/implement solutions or preventive measures.

See, told you it would work in Texas. I got dragged away kicking and screaming from my beloved West Texas 12 years ago by a tyrranical wife who insisted we move to a place where we could find jobs. Funny how we just happened to wind up next door to her mother. Haven't been able to keep up with Texas happenings since then.

Are there any stats on the results of Amber alerts? Anecdotally all I remember are false alarms, domestic disputes, mistakes. There's a danger of a cry wolf effect.

Sheriff Carona interviewed on Fox News this morning. He stated that they had several suspects detained and felt that one of them would be arrested. Let's hope and pray that there is an arrest today.

Let's hope he resists arrest. Not too hard, we don't want any dead cops - resist just enough to give them an excuse

I'm very impressed by little Sarah Ahn. What a smart child. Hopefully she's going to help get this monster into custody.

Remember the father fo the girl who was raped a few years back...the one who waited in the airport at a phone booth, then walked up and terminated the perp? The guy shuold be cannonized/sainthood! I have to think that if this happened to my family, I would take such measures myself...we cannot count on the courts anymore...if this father ever resorts to this, the cops need to turn a blind eye. Then again, maybe one of these cops will notice that this bastard is trying to escape and....well, I'm pretty sure any action would sure as Hell be justified right quick!
Time to send a real clear message to these bastards that we will NOT tolerate this sort of stuff. Trial within a week, sentence, execution immediately after the trial (fair trial of course...if the perp makes it that far!)

Davis only understands the acquiring of, or throwing MONEY at, type solution.

I'm so glad she was able to help so much.
I'm sure she feels so badly that her friend was taken - what could she have done better so that didn't happen...you know the thought process...
At, at least if she feels like her help was so valuable, it might make things easier on her feelings of being helpless in that situation. Am I making sense???
P.S. Sunshine...does your screen name mean that you love the sun like I do, AND that you were perhaps born in the great year of 1955 like me??? --Just curious

"Remember the father fo the girl who was raped a few years back...the one who waited in the airport at a phone booth,"I remember. It was filmed. Showed the guy in the background in a corner pretending to talk on a pay phone. AS soon as the perp came out the father walked determinedly to the perp and executed him. The father of the girl was prosecuted for manslaughter and apparently spent about 12 months in jail, unfortunately. I say it was a small price to pay and well worth putting a bad guy away. Hats Off!

If anyone does anything to a member of my family, I will take care of it, there won't be a trial.
And it would take him a long time to die.
