Maybe they are all right and none wrong, maybe no one knows for sure. This is a classic response by a moral relativist. So, you don't think that a religion that promotes the murder innocent people is wrong??? Do you think before you type?

stuartcr: "
You say I'm incompetent because I don't believe any religion is right or wrong? You have proof that your religion is the right one?"
~grin~ Nice try...
You said: "Maybe they are all right and none wrong"
That is an incompetent statement. Factoring in the Feudal contrariety between the differing faiths, your assertion could only be put forward in an honest manner but someone "incompetent" where Religions of the World are concerned.
If I may skip ahead a couple of hundred posts...
You're seemingly a transparent contrarian to religious order more than anything else. This is what leads to your incompetence.

"Allah" is the Arabic word for "God", used by Arabic speaking Christians as well as Muslims. Yes, but The "Allah" of Islam is a false god originating from the pre-islamic arabian culture wherein there were 360 deities (sun, moon, stars). Allah was originally known as "Al-Ilah" and praying toward Mecca, pilgrimages to the Kabah, etc. were all in place before Mohammed. So much for the Koran coming directly from heaven to Mohammed. Islamic is an irrational cult that has no basis in evidence or archeology for the claims that it makes.

All religions are man-made. It is those that are in power that are doing the murdering, using a religion as an excuse, and a manipulative device, as it has been since men first realized they could use it to their advantage. I don't know whether a moral relativist is good or bad, but it appears you meant it in a deragatory manner.

"
All religions are man-made."
If you believe that then the logical conclusion is that all religions are not divine hence erroneous.
Would you then state that Jesus Christ is not Lord and that there is no Holy Spirit?

You do have proof then? What does the feudal factoring paragraph mean? Why would my contrariness make me incompetent?

Do you have evidence to prove that all religions are man-made or is this your personal view that you take on faith? Since all religions are equal, then your religion - atheism - is also included. Remember? Atheism is the relgion that gave us Stalin and Mao and 100 million murders. You obviously have a very poor grasp of the contrasts between the various religions. Asserting it does not make it true.

Okay, I get your drift about it being a "fertility cult". Not sure if that is the best generality to use, but it does give me something new to consider.
As far as your other statements, in general, I think you are a little bit too kind to them. There are some belief systems and practices which are simply incompatible with a free and progressive society; pedophilia, theft, extortion, islam, these are examples of anti-social value-systems.
To: stuartcr
Haven't many military leaders (of all faiths), in the past, prayed to God to help them defeat their enemies? But the point is that this proves they consider us their enemy.
To: VaBthang4
I would honestly state, that since all religions are man-made, they are potentially erroneous. I have no idea whether Jesus Christ is Lord, but I doubt it. I don't know what you mean by Holy Spirit.

Did I mean "moral relativism" in a derogatory manner? I simply mean that moral relativism is absurd, illogical, and absolutely indefensible because it doesn't exist. It's the ethical refuge of atheists who have no other place to go. It's the logical end of atheism in that if there is no god, then life is ultimately meaningless; there can be no love, no hope, no justice, and people are just time+chance+matter, in which case your opinion is also absolutely meaningless. Please don't try to defend moral relativism to me because I will make you look ridiculous.

You asked me a question...and I answered it.
I then asked you a question and I await your response before I will go further with your query.

"Kill the disbelievers wherever we find them" (Koran 2:191)Come on, Liberals, explain this sh*t. Some "tolerant misunderstood religion, yes?"
It's the religion from HELL, and we ought to start rounding up Islams here and putting them in camps.

Too kind? That's the first time anyone has accused me of that! haha. I advocate destruction of Mecca and the outlawing of Islam in the U.S. What more would you do?

Sorry...I didnt see your response in my comments...
"You do have proof then?"
Proof of what?
"What does the feudal factoring paragraph mean?"
It is not rocket science...it is a refution of your assertion that all faiths could be right. Do the math.
"Why would my contrariness make me incompetent?"
Being a contrarian does not directly make you incompetent...obviously it is what leads you to not study the texts involved...hence making you incompetent to discuss whether or not they all may or may not be correct.
To: exmarine
What makes you think I am an atheist? How can religion be anything other than man-made?

I don't seem to recall such rhetoric in the last sermon I heard. Likewise, my Christian friends haven't related any similar diatribes from their ministers regarding the followers of Islam.
The most virulent prayers I can recall from the Viet Nam era were phrased in terms of "God/Jesus/Lord, protect our soldiers in battle", or "God/Jesus/Lord, may this battle/war end soon so that peaceful people may return to their normal lives and families", and "...receive in your loving arms those who fall in battle today."
What I didn't hear, and don't hear today, are prayers to kill all the Muslims, consume in fire and death all the Islamic Nations and, since it is within God's power to eliminate all of Islam, God should do it now!

It is interesting that you equate the Immams and the Military Leaders. It is also clear you acknowledge their belief that we are enemies and aggressors. What is clear to all of us is that the Spiritual leaders of a nation shape the attitudes of that nation and they are definitely against us.

Proof that your beliefs are correct. We are talking about God, the creator of the universe. Why would you limit Him to our pitiful human comprehension? All things are possible with God, and nothing is provable. I don't study any texts because my beliefs are just as valid as those of anyone.

If you don't believe that in the past, there have been leaders that asked God to smite their enemy and give them victory, then I envy you.
