Oh, I've seen this nuts stuff before. He predicts doom and gloom. He is in the gold business. The world is coming to an end so buy gold. Here is part of his rant before Y2K:

Like I speculated earlier, my take is that the guy bought a massive short position, had never done any trend analysis, didn't know the support levels of the stocks he had in play, and took it in the shorts.
