Jacko's MTV 'award' all a misunderstanding

Michael Jackson was left embarrassed yesterday after he proudly accepted a non-existent award for the Artist of the Millennium in front of millions of television viewers.

Confusion arose when Britney Spears introduced the singer on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York to present him with a cake to celebrate his 44th birthday.

The Pop Princess said that, for her, Jackson was the artist of the millennium.

But Jackson took her words to mean he was being honoured as the greatest singer of the last 1,000 years.

The star even gave an emotional acceptance speech to the celebrity packed audience at Radio City Music Hall, which was broadcast live across the United States.

"When I was a little boy growing up in Indiana if someone told me I'd be getting the Artist of the Millennium award, I'd never have believed it," he said.

Jackson went on to thank God, his parents and the magician David Blaine.

MTV said it was all "a bit of a misunderstanding".

"There is no such award as the Artist of the Millennium. I think some wires got crossed," said a spokeswoman for the network.

To complete his embarrassment, Jackson was ridiculed by the show's host, American comedian Jimmy Fallon.

"Michael Jackson looks great for 44," he said as the singer left the stage.

"Between you and me, I think he's had some work done."

Couldn't David Blaine have just waved a wand or something to have an award appear and save Michael all that embarrassment? (P.S. who *IS* David Blaine anyway..? I've never heard of him.)

He's gone way past "lost it." This whack job breaks new ground every day. Brittany's pretty clueless. But I'll bet even she was thinking, "What in the Hell is he(?) talking about."

So, if she had said he was a "swell guy", he'd have gone on and on about the "Swell Guy of the Year" award as well, one must imagine.

Damn. It's just pathetic how these people just HAVE to know how they're "loved", isn't it???

I dunno. She's such a dope herself that it's hard to tell if she's just playing along to be nice to Jacko, or if she's having a silicone moment and just assuming that this is some award she forgot about/wasn't told about...

"Pretty" clueless? Her head reminds me of one of those mylar balloons.

For Brittany to have said that about this child molester tells one that her IQ has to be below 50.

So that's the secret.

It is humorous that even such an out-of-touch weirdo like Michael Jackson could seriously thing he would be considered for artist of the millenium over such heavyweights as this here Johanne Sebastian Bach who acheived more brilliance with that single sheet of music he is holding than Michael Jackson did in his entire career.

Britney Spears introduced the singer on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York to present him with a cake to celebrate his 44th birthday.

,,, Britney could probably light the candles on that cake by blowing on them.

The Pop Princess said that, for her, Jackson was the artist of the millennium.

,,, which millennium Britney? There's a millennium every year.

I think it is hilarious how he protests his innocence, on charges of being a child-molesting homosexual, yet, he shows up everywhere dressed like in the picture.

,,, you bet! I can tell you that if I made about $US80m a year, I could do a whole lot better than trying to look like my sister.

This is the twit who had a nervous breakdown over her split with Justin Timberlake. Yeah Britney, we really respect your opinion.
