Iraq to dispatch emissaries to several European states

Iraq is due to dispatch envoys to European capitals, including Paris and Berlin, to explain its stance against US plots to overthrow the regime, Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan said.

"Iraq is going to send emissaries to several European countries, including France and Germany, to explain the scale of American threats against the Iraqi people and the dangers they pose to world peace and security," Ramadan told the official Iraq News Agency (INA) Sunday.

He added French and German opposition to US schemes to strike Iraq without seeking a new UN mandate "mean that European countries are aware of the dangers of the US policy of hegemony which targets the whole word without exception".

"The European position hostile to the arrogant and aggressive policy of the US administration against Iraq is growing noticeably," Ramadan added.

I assume you mean Saddam=Hitler and Europe should have stopped Hitler in the 1930's?

A more nuanced view of history shows that facism rose as a counter to communism. If France had tried to stop Hitler in the 1930's both countries could have ended up communist. Saddam was a useful counter to Iran in the 1980's, having outlived his usefulness doesn't make him Hitler.
