Was the tobacco can "snuff?" It was described in the media as a can of chewing tobacco, but I'm told that chewing tobacco doesn't come in cans, that it must have been either snuff or smokeless tobacco.
Ok, then - this is quite a stretch but perhaps the terrorist sent the can to mean "we are going to snuff (kill)" and the cigar to mean "the president (a Clinton metaphor.")
