I doubt anyone in the school has been the victim of a crime perpetrated by someone waving the Confederate flag. All of this crap about the Confederate flag being "divisive" is just liberal propaganda. People are "offended" by the flag because they've been taught to be offended, not because of anything anyone wearing the flag has done.

Some 150 Cherokee High School students showed up Friday for class wearing T-shirts with the Confederate flag emblem, in protest of a school ban.I'll be waiting with baited breath for them to ban symbols supporting the UN, Islam 'the religion of peace' wear, and pictures of abraham lincoln because all three offend me. Do you think they might?
God bless these children that have not been brainwashed by yankee and liberal mantras. Maybe not all our schools have been indoctrinated yet. And to think after 135 years of propaganda, they still can't get to everyone. The truth ALWAYS will come out sooner or later

It's public record
You (and Stainless Banner) are correct.

I'm not a Southerner, but believe it is a symbol of southern pride, Dixie lives in the hearts and souls of millions still. Let it fly!.......Proudly!........Fight back, don't let those that want to censor history get away with it.....!

Dear Amy Slauson, you have an inherent right to do what you are doing. Do not, I repeat, do not compromise your principals......Be proud of who you are and your heritage. Rock on! - Kansas City Boy

great picture! Bright young lady. We conservatives know how to spot them......I am so proud of such students!

Handsome lot, a couple need to go on slimfast for a few years, otherwise appear to be alright....keep the pressure on them......show some leadership people!

As much as I am pro Union/USA, (not labor union)I think this is going a little too far.

"It's not a symbol of slavery; it's a symbol of heritage that we fought in the Civil War. We had our own transgressions, but we were discriminated against," she said. Well that tops my list as one of the more unique explanations of the cause of the Civil War. Regardless, if she and her classmates want to wear the confederate flag on their clothing, bandanas, or whatever then they have the right to do so. A lot of people died to protect that right and the Cherokee High School administration is making a mockery of that sacrifice.

Ok thanks. Now, I can get on with writing letters to them : )
BTW: I am shocked that they wish to be contacted at their homes....seems a little odd.
To: Non-Sequitur
Ok good catch, NS. She is correct in saying she is being discriminated against today, though. Thanks for the support on wearing the CBF.
To: stainlessbanner
Good grief. If this happens in 91% white Cherokee, then southern heritage may be eliminated altogether.

In his letter, Sebring said the move was made "to preserve peace and tranquility among our students and to ensure teaching and learning can take place. . . ."
This school has very few minorities, so talk of offending blacks is null.
