Live on C-Span - House Armed Services Committee hears from former UN Weapons Inspectors

For the past half hour or so I have been watching two former UN weapons inspectors testify before the House Armed Services Committee live on C-Span. Is anyone else watching this? They are without a doubt making President Bush's case for him. They have stated unequivocally that time is not on our side, that if they held congressional voting cards (a question put to them by a Republican congressman from VA) that they would vote to invade, that Scott Ritter is a liar (quote - "if he isn't lying now, he was certainly lying years ago"), referencing his past statements before Congress. They stated disdainfully that Scott Ritter has no way of knowing ANYTHING past 1998.

They are emphatic, deadly serious and urgent in their answers to questions put forward by Republicans and Democrats alike. One thanked them a few minutes ago for appearing before them and speaking so candidly and "quite frankly, scaring us to death." It's still going on (unless it concluded within the last couple minutes). I did a search and found nothing about it - please direct me if I missed comments already made.

Who are the former inspectors? Is Richard Boucher one of them, and did they really say that Ritter is a liar? I hope someone hands that backstabbing, treacherous a-hole his head one day soon. This latest stunt of his...speaking in Iraq...borders on treason. I put him right up there with Hanoi Jane.

Ya know-it was years ago when I saw Scott Ritter sitting before a panel on CSPAN, an inquiry panel composed of senators. They were looking for responses to Saddams kicking UNSCUM-the UN led inspectors in IRAQ-out of his country, breaking a UN resolution to allow them access.

Scott RAILED against the UN and the klinton administration for not supporting the efforts of the investigators.

I remember joey biden, the pompous rather stupid dem senator really putting Scott down...saying "you DON't RIDE in LIMOS and make policy....you are out of line making such comments" or words to that effect. Scott was mocked by biden and a few others and you could see the anger boiling within Scott's self.

Scott's flip flop is strange and scary. And dangerous. But joey biden and other sick dems shoudl KNOW that their treatment of him may have encouraged Scott to go over the edge. Seriously.

I was HOPING that Brit Hume, Hannity and COlmes, O'Reilly and Rush would be playing the tapes from CSPAN library of Scott's time before the senatorial panel-it was, frankly, amazing.

I am so glad to learn that other, still patriotic investigators are now making the case Scott was, at one time, making himself.

I think Ritter would definately fall under the "giving aid and comfort to the enemy" part of the law. Too bad no one at "Justice" has the stones to indict him.

Kay and Spretzel. Kay is a former chief inspector, 91-93. I don't know anymore about them than what C-Span is posting. And yes, they DID call Ritter a liar. One of the congressmen (forget which one) asked them if they would care to address what Ritter has been saying and Kay said "Well, CARE isn't the word I would use" (showing obvious disgust for what Ritter's been saying) and he proceeded to say that if Ritter isn't lying now, he was lying years ago, and all they have to do was look at the statements he made before Congress then, statements that do NOT conflict with what they were saying now, today. He ended with "You make the decision" (about Ritter's truthfulness) and the other inspector concurred.

I watched this also........scared the SHI! outta me.

I loved the way that the older bioweapons expert guy, sorry can't remember his name, put that loud mouthed (D) in his place toward the end.

He said "What makes us so sure that Iraq hasn't already used BW against us?". He then said " We still haven't figured out the source of the Anthrax last year and Iraq CERTAINLY had the capability to make Anthrax of that quality".
