My wife just called me with this. I can't find it anywhere else. She saw it on the local TV channel.

With all due respect indeed!

Let's see I have been Freepin since 1997, joined early 1998. I don't think I have to answer to YOU. All I did was respond to another Freeper's comment. We have been joking on this thread, if you didn't notice. We have been making comments since the story first broke, even before it really broke nationwide, about it could be another SHOWER story and send in soap and the three will run out and flush and call roto rooter. If you can't take light of this one, perhaps you should find a serious thread on this subject. Sometimes we laugh to keep from crying! I lost two friends in the 9/11 attacks and I am trying to spend a happy day remembering them! Chill out already!!!!! So you don't have a coronary!!!!

Not suprising at all considering there were two attempted hijackings in the past 12 days that received very little media play -- the one from Sweden and the one from India.

Also not surprising since travelers are probably a bit tense today. It could be that these three were up too something. It is also possible that the three hid in the bathroom to get away from some overzealous "patriots" that were alerted to some suspicious behavior—such as drink their Coke ® too quickly.

"But in Washington, federal officials who spoke on condition of anonymity said the incident was not believed to be a terrorist incident."

They are making the assumption that it is not, from the get-go. The feds do not know, but people ON THE SCENE say that they appear to be of Middle Eastern Descent and have seemingly ritually shaved themselves. I'll admit that those things may be hearsay masquerading as "facts". However, the info is coming from the local witnesses, not Washington.

The Feds assuming carte blanche that nothing is terrorism, well, it's just wrong. I am of the view that we need to be on our guard. Not paranoid, but certainly mindful of the possibility.

There is a problem with "Nothing to see here, move along" ex officio, y'know what I mean?

Laughter is the best revenge.

That's actually a myth. Killing the bastards is the best revenge.

Someone on the radio just said that Newark airport looks closed it is so empty. A flight to LAX just landed with only 12 passengers. A lot of people were afraid to fly this week. I flew from Houston to LA Sunday, and felt safer than usual. I think security is high this week. And if any terrorists show up all the passengers will jump on them like flies on manure. We are trying to get a ticket for our son to fly out here Sat. I would have gladly today, too.

I certainly wouldn't be on a plane today with one.

On the contrary. I'd insist on sitting right next to them, and just wait for an excuse.

I've been viewing flightview.com for a couple of weeks now (I'm flying on the 17th of Sept. and I'm afraid to fly...not because of terrorism). It looks like the load is down about 800-1000 flights. Usually should be around 4000 flights at any given time during peak hours.

I bet you sometime scratch you head as to how much anal nitpicking can these guys come up with, don't you?

Nitpicking? How dare you! I'll have you know that posting membership dates is considered a debate tactic by many a Freeper! The dates must be correct. How else will we know who is right and who is wrong? ;)

Watch out, AmericanInTokyo will jump on you for kidding around..... But I liked the poem!!!! If we can't keep smilling and joking and getting along here... if we have to remain serious and rude all the time... then the terrorists win.

Went to the website. How did you show all the flights and specifically the ones going into a single airport?

My flight was jammed up jelly tight it was so full Sunday. I am glad I got to ride in First Class where it is a little less cramped. But these days First Class isn't Mahi Mahi. It is a salad with shrimp on it and that was Continental. My husband flies so often that he can fly first class, upgrades, so he let me take his seat and he rode in the cattle car. Later he told me he didn't have a passenger next to him so he was able to stretch out a bit. That must have been the ONLY empty seat on that flight. I am always just happy when the flight lands in LA without incident!

Your post is offensive to Muslims!

What? It's not like anyone's calling them "Islamic Bathroom Buddies". That would be offensive!

Usually should be around 4000 flights at any given time during peak hours.

I work in an airline dispatch office. We use a professional version of Flightview from another company. We have filters to show our aircraft only, but when you shut it off it shows any plane on an IFR flight plan. During peak hours you cant make out any part of the United States there are so many. Today, our company has less than 25% of our aircraft flying. As do most of the other carriers.
