September 17, 2002 -- NEW Jersey voters already concerned about Sen. Robert Torricelli's low ethical threshold now learn that he's been a paid shill for a group the government identifies as a terrorist organization. Called on this by his Republican opponent, Douglas Forrester, in a debate Thursday, Torricelli said the group had been pulled from the State Department's global terror list and given a clean bill of health. Not true.

This is very timely!
With most of the Rats in the senate and the house, it is past time to follow the money from the Mullahs of Iran, the thugs of Iraq and the Opecker Princes to their bought and paid for Rats in our Congress!

The Torch and his long relationship with these terrorists who helped to overthrow the Shaw in Iran is typical of the warm and cozy relationship of key rats in the Senate.
The Torch has done a lot damage to the CIA to prevent this type of data from coming out.
The Torch and his ilk in the Senate need to be exposed as anti Americans for decades and then rooted out of the Senate Garden.

Just another example of the long time Anti America/American rat senators we have in power in this country.
Time to defeat all of these al Qaeda cRat running for re election this November.
Can you imagine this pro Islamakazi POS getting so top secret info of pending action against Iran?
He would be on his special phone in minutes warning the Mullah Thugs of Iran that we were planning something.
To: eureka!
If the voters of NJ return the Torch with this data, it is proof positive that the Rat voters hate America as much as the Torch and his Islamkazi buddies do!

The problem is getting around the Rat controlled media in Jersey.
The grim reality/probability is that a large part of our rat media has been bought out by the Opecker Princes, the Mullah Thugs from Iran and Saddam's Merry bands of Mass Murderers.
If so they will bury this data regardless of what Forrester's people do.
This has to get on the internet, conservative talks shows and then Fox News needs to carry this.
To: Grampa Dave
The Torch's Saddam connection via his buddies, People's Mujahedin:
Then its Marxist ideals ran afoul of Khomeini's clericalism; the Mujahedin went into exile, eventually settling in Iraq in 1986. Since then, the group has been fed, clothed and armed by Saddam Hussein.
According to a 1994 State Department report, "Saddam Hussein has been one of [its] primary financiers, providing weapons and cash totaling an estimated hundreds of millions of dollars."
But it hasn't been a free lunch. In addition to periodic hit-and-runs inside Iran and embassy stormings overseas, the group has served as proxy troops in Saddam's campaign to squash domestic uprisings. In at least one instance, it participated in a battle against northern Kurds in which chemical weapons were used.
A counterterrorism official at State says the People's Mujahedin are "still engaged in acts of international terrorism" and "still pose a threat." But - despite repeated briefings by State Department officials regarding the group's activities - Torricelli has been a staunch ally of the People's Mujahedin.
To: Grampa Dave
We've got to nail the Torch. The fact is, he is guilty of contributory negligence in causing 9/11 by gutting our intelligence community just to score points with Bianca Jagger.

I think that he gutted our intel and CIA for his Islamakazi buddies and to protect him from disclosures like this.
Every Rat in the Senate who tries delay the upcoming weeding of Iraq or defend Saddam should be looked at like the Torch. The money trail needs to be highlighted.
How much money have the Opecker Princes, the Mullah Thugs of Iran and Saddam's thugs given to the enviral groups which in turn take their laundering fees out of the money and pass it on as a donation to the Rat senators?
To: MJY1288
Let us know what Fox News has to say about this sickening reality of treason by a US Senator.
To: backhoe
My friend, another thread for you to index re the treason of the Rats in Congress.
It would be interesting if his Islamakazi out of state donors are some of the same who donated to Jihad Cindy Mckenzie.
To: Grampa Dave
If you live in New Jersey, your homework assignment for today is to ask ten people this question:
Did you know that the Torch took at least $140,000 from the same terrorists who took over the American Embassy in Tehran and lobbied on their behalf for ten years to get the State Department to reclassify them as a non-terrorist group?
Tomorrow, same assignment. And the next day...

Excellent suggestion!
To: big ern; gridlock
Ern, he would be toast to us.
However, the hard core 30% of the population that is pro Rat would vote for Sammy Been Laden for senator if he ran as a rat against a conservative.
Hopefully this will wake up the moderates back there and the conservatives wanting a candidate who sprints on the top of the water without dampening his Nikes!
Gridlock had a great suggestion re emailing people in NJ to inform them of this traitor's acts the past 10 years.
To: Squantos
With the Torch, Da$$hole and Leaky Leahy, they should be introduced as the Dishonorable Traitors in the US Senate.
There are others, but these three are among the worst.
To: eureka!
Eureka,
This came out during the second debate last week - commentators made little of this at the time - it's amazing it took this long to come to light. Politico2 posted several excellent references on this last week - we had some back & forth on the Jersey site also.
Maybe finally this issue will get some real traction- Doug's been out in front with this but, if the press doesn't pick it up & run with it, it goes nowhere....maybe now it will have somewhere to go.
Call in the radio shows......send emails....write letters to the editor......LETS ROLL!!!!!

To: bioprof
Thanks for the scoop on the debate prof. Living out here on the left coast (as well as a 2 and 4 year old) makes catching all the action tough--even with the 'net. And yes, the presstitutes will not hammer Torch on this as they should. This would be a good Stern/Imus point as they can circumvent the lamestream pressholes and reach many NJ voters. Thank the Heavens for talk radio and thank Al Gore for the 'net. I think that the Torch will be toast come November and this terrorist lobbying issue will help...

YoungKentuckyConservatve:
How right you are! The day after the debate last week ( when Doug made this accusation) Torricelli accused Doug of being a racist! Torch ( surprisingly ) got no traction on this...and Doug just turned the volume up even louder.
How about replacing the nickname "The Torch" with "Baghdad Bob" ( the MEK is actually headquartered in Baghdad even though they are supposedly an Iranian group ).

And according to Iran Brief, an independent watchdog publication, Torricelli took in more than $100,000 from Mujahedin sympathizers before 1996 - and another $34,000 as his '96 race revved up. This SOB needs to get gone in the worst way. Hopefully Forrester will keep hammering away at this, while playing commercials of the Torch pounding on the podium while he says NEVER!!
NEVER re-elect him NJ>

Umm... did you READ the article?
In the FIRST paragraph, it says, "Called on this by his Republican opponent, Douglas Forrester, in a debate Thursday..."
AND from today's Bergen Record: "Sen. Robert G. Torricelli, a masterful campaigner known for devouring opponents, found himself Monday in uncomfortable yet increasingly familiar territory: on the defensive.
"For the fourth straight day, Torricelli's camp fought accusations by Republican challenger Douglas Forrester that the Democratic senator supported a terrorist group." (emphasis added)

Thanks for going back over this article.
Too many of us jump on Republican Candidates and call them dumb, lazy or cowards.
The reality is in most races, the Republican Candidates are doing what is right, the mainstream left wing mediots are not putting the reality out as news.
I hope that Doug Forrester continues to pound this, and all conservatives in NJ help him to spread the word.

The Torch has done a lot damage to the CIA to prevent this type of data from coming out. Isn't he the one that authored legislation (around 1996) to preclude the CIA from hiring informants with a shady past?

Yes, he wrote that legislation. And I wonder if his getting these terrorist contributions has some connection with that.
To: Grampa Dave
I think it's very important to know that Doug Forrester is really taken a bold stand here. You might not think it's bold to stand up and point out that a guy took money and supported terrorists, but it is, and I'll explain why.
Doug could have just as easily sat on his laurels, and bash the crap out of Torricelli's ethics. He took a risk and stuck his neck out on a story which hadn't been news in over a year. If he didn't have his facts lined up, he would have lost a lot of ground -- even commentators watching the debate were confused by the complexity of the situation. They thought Doug mispoke and said "Baghdad and Iraq" rather than "Tehran and Iran". Torricelli lied and said the group was removed from the State Department terrorist list. He lied and said an appeals court over-turned the State Department designation. Torricelli called Doug a bigot and racist for bringing up the issue.
Yet Doug held his ground and presented the facts -- over and over again. He needs our support -- either by volunteering or by a contribution no matter how small. We have a real chance to kick Torricelli out of the Senate. Just think -- if he wins this time, he may well be in for life.

To: Go Gordon
Exactly, he got a bill through to really limit the CIA's effectiveness in the field:
(link)The Central Intelligence Agency's ability to gather intelligence in the Middle East has been injured by reforms triggered in 1995 by then-Rep. Robert Torricelli (D-N.J.), members of the House Intelligence Committee said last week.
In the wake of disclosures by Torricelli that a Guatemalan colonel linked to the murder of an American was on the CIA payroll, the agency fired one-third of its informants - roughly 1,000 "assets" - and instituted new rules on the recruitment of sources.
Some of the assets were fired because of poor production, but others were fired for criminal activity that could have proved embarrassing to the United States if uncovered.
"The focus of Congress at the time was on Mr. Torricelli's actions and whether he had violated ethics rules, not on the CIA," said Rep. Larry Combest (R-Texas), who chaired the Intelligence Committee at the time.
Nonetheless, voters and editorial boards across the country were outraged, and President Clinton joined the fray, threatening to fire "on the spot" any CIA agent who had failed to pass along information about the colonel, Julio Roberto Alpirez.
"Sen. Torricelli feels it is imperative in a democracy for there to be some accountability within the intelligence community," spokeswoman Debra DeShong said. "The directive merely made certain that, if the United States were to engage in a relationship with someone who has committed human rights abuses, the decision would be made by a senior official."
After conducting a review of his agency's operations, Director of Central Intelligence John Deutch fired informants - including Middle Easterners - who had dirty hands and directed his field operatives to clear questionable recruits with Washington.
To: Politico2
We hope that you, the conservative voters of NJ, and Doug are successful in defeating this POS trash.
To: Grampa Dave
Torricelli is really just a typical lawyer: corrupt, arrogant, thieving, lying, narcissistic, manipulative and evil to the core.

Aren't these the major dimensions to become a trial lawyer or a rat politician?
Corrupt, arrogant, thieving, lying, narcissistic, manipulative and evil to the core
Then they have to have support of the Rats in government. So they are the largest $ contributors and make up a large % of the Rats in congress!
