There's room for all kinds of people in a movement as broad as "conservatism."

Sure, some of Ann Coulter's stuff is just as mean as anything Serpent-Head has come up with. But there are two major points of difference between Coulter and Carville. 1) Coulter is sharp and funny. 2) What she says is true.

Sure, it's not nice to point out that the Kennedy family is dysfunctional, but when the Kennedys continue to consider it their right to run the country and get elected to any office they happen to run for, then they are fair game. Especially they are fair game when they insult President Bush for naming a building after themselves.

Anyone hear Imus jump all over Begala this morning? He asked him what was wrong with him and how did he get so twisted. For years the liberals have gotten away with making stupid statements and not being called on them. Now they are and the sissies can't handle it. Ask yourself how can Savage be so popular if everyone is so offended. This is just more dis information trying to make those like Coulter change her tactics. She is doing good and should ignore the critics.

"Demagogue: One who preaches a doctrine he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots."
-Henry Louis Mencken
Ann Colter is an anti-demagogue because she preaches the truth to the same people.

Explain why Ann should have to watch what she says, but Molly Ivins has a free rein?

I saw the interview with the editor last night on O'Reilly and I thought he was an idiot. I'm sick of people who are more concerned about "how something is said" than what is actually being done! The good news is, we'll never hear of the editor again!

George Bush kissing Teds fat ass made me want to puke. Country club Pubbies like Bush will never understand that Dems. like Kennedy will only settle for total destruction of any opposing point of view.

As previously noted here, I hadn't thought of Molly Ivins at all, but it's certainly a valid point.

"(Your author wouldn’t, for example, refer to Marilyn Monroe’s being used as a spittoon had this column been written for the Wall Street Journal.)"

We have now sunk to a depth at which restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men.

Her credibility goes down each day.

On the contrary: her willingness to speak her mind in that wondrously satirical way is winning us new converts every day. Not since PJ O'Rourke first graced paper has a conservative essayist attracted so much public attention. One of her is worth more than a whole country club full of old-dude Republicans.

I'm most proud to have someone like Ann on our side.

Many years ago, Volkswagen was running ads touting their vehicles being well-fit together. They showed VW's floating, i.e., so well sealed it didn't sink.

The National Lampoon published a perfect (Onion-style) duplicate ad, which said, "If Ted Kennedy had been driving one of these..."

As I recall, the Kennedies sued them and made them retract and recall the issue.

" I assume I will not see complaints when the liberals do it to our candidates if we think it is just wonderful when Ann Coulter does the same thing"

Quit being so dramatic. The Rats have been doing this crap for years. They just can't handle a little taste of their own medicine.

Yep...talk about over-rated.

I don't get the Coulter fascination at all. If you want an abrasive and funny attack-dog conservative.....PJ O'Rourke has more intelligence, wit, and writing ability in his little finger than Coulter does in her whole anorexic body.

And where did the idea that she's attractive come from? Sheesh. Yick. Well, she isn't Helen Thomas, that's about all you can say for her.

I think this guy Unger is a big phony. He said, on O'Reilly, that he got about 6000 communications on his action and that they almost all supported him. I don't believe it. Many FReepers e-mailed him on this and I doubt that they supported his action. And where would 6000 communications come from out of his small circulation.

Nope, I think this guy is full of ----. He has used his "firing" of Ann to get his 15 minutes of fame. BTW, O'Reilly really fed this guy softballs. That's due to his admiration of the Kennedys (Bobby, Jack) I guess.

This guy was looking for a reason, a pretext. He probably has substituted Kristol or another of the "girly boys" for her column, what do you bet?

Regards.

"PC has saturated the Republicans too. It will be the death of this nation."

Have faith. Life is filled with slow pendulums. What was ok for one generation is often revered by the following generation while the generation after that rebels again and adopts something much closer to their parents' beliefs. America is a strong country and can withstand PC.

He claims that his paper has gotten thousands of message about their cancelling Coulters column, and the vast majority were in favor of it.

I saw that and I too thought he was full of S%^$.

"Brian, I'm glad you shared your opinions on this. You are doing your bit. And so are Ann & Rush."

How do we get Newt back on the public stage. He is another intellectual heavyweight who speaks the truth forcefully and infuriates the Dims as a result.

The problem Ann has is her intelligence goes way over the head of most people. I get what she says, sometimes you have to think just the opposite of her statements to get the true meaning. She is sarcastic with the truth and the libs hate her for it.

I doubt that any girly-boy would find Ann attractive.

I'll give you a clue. But don't get your panties in a bunch and start a crying jag on us for pointing it out. Here is the attractive Ann situation in a nutshell.

It is a masculine, male thing. She appeals to them. She is filled with passion and masculine men can sense it. And they desire it. .... See, I knew you wouldn't understand

"She speaks their language"

No jraven, as much as you might not want to believe it, Ann Coulter consistently speaks the truth backed up with references to verify what she says. People like the Clinton twin demons, Carville, Begala, etc. consistently DO NOT tell the truth. They color things, they use innuendo, photo ops and outright lies to advance their agendas without regard to the effects on their constituents. There's a big difference btwn Ann Coulter and liberals - truth vs. lies is a rather vast and stark difference.
