Why is that such an imposition on those who aren't even citizens here? I know the INS is supposed to keep track of them, but well, we can't expect too much from that agency, apparently.

Yet, freepers keep posting, refering to false statements and leaked speculation as if it is true. I have no doubt that in the minds of many freepers, the three students are still terrorists.
Are you seeing that the media should not air the tollboth video that show the three Muslim med students actually paying the tolls?

Anybody who THINKS, as you say, can see that Eunice's story has absolutely nothing to do with a toll booth. The toll booth issue is nothing but a sideline issue.

For me to say what I really think about you would probably get me banned from this site. So Japanese-Americans took up arms against America during the war? So Japanese-Americans expatriated themselves to Japan to fight against America? So Japanese-Americans didn't have some of the best records winning innumerable awards in the war in Europe?
I have never met a Japanese-American who did not consider himself American first, Japanese by ethnic descent. I believe Mrs. Stone. The bomb-sniffing dogs are right 95% of the time. So the toll booth worker was worried on that day. She's human. Students stupidly "planning" an attack, a nation in mourning, on high alert, the nutty Cleveland license plate confusion, the woman at the toll booth warned to be on the alert, the bomb dogs' confirmation of possible explosives....yeah, who wouldn't make sure that these guys weren't terrorists? They were held one day. They were damn lucky relatives of the WTC victims didn't stop them. Meanwhile, in Muslim nations, a neighbor can accuse another neighbor...and on his word, without the right of an attorney or jury...can be jailed, or killed.
I personally heard the students claim that they said nothing like what Eunice claimed, that she was "obviously flat-out lying." I personally heard the students subsequently say that they did say something similar to what Eunice claimed and that she only misunderstood, that when they said, "Do you think we have enough to bring it down" and "if we don't have enough to bring it down, I have contacts and we'll get enough to bring it down" referred to bringing a car down.
There was a direct quote from the sheriff that said that two of the three refused to answer any questions and that the third one only answered questions with more questions.
I personally heard them say that they answered every question fully and truthfully. When confronted with the sheriff's statement by Linda Vester, they were stumped. They couldn't find words to say anything. Then their attorney piped in, saying that they have the constitutional right to not agree to having their car searched. A classic tactic of a liar -- change the subject without addressing the fact that you got caught in a lie.
I personally heard them claim that Eunice was lying because they claimed that she said that they were speaking in Arabic. I'll bet you can find no record of Eunice making any such claim. She consistently has said that they spoke only in English.
Those are all lies based on direct quotes from the sheriff, Eunice, and the students. Eunice's story has been consistent from the very beginning.
You can defend these people by pointing to irrelevant items that the media got wrong or that the toll booth operator was too nervous to remember correctly, but not one of those things reflects on whether or not Eunice heard what she heard.
Are they terrorists? Who knows. The police have repeatedly stated that they are still under investigation. If they are terrorists, then Eunice prevented an attack on 9/13.
At best, what they are is punks who decided to scare Eunice by saying things that would make it sound like they were plotting a terrorist attack. They didn't count on her having the courage to do anything about it.
And how many of these statements did you, yourself, hear these students make? Or did you just watch the news or read in the paper or on the internet what someone is alleged to have said or their interpretation of that?
As for the license plates that was resolved the day of the incident. The problem with the plate was caused by the state of Illinois. The students did not play any role in it other than drive the car.
Why are you so paranoid? Eunice did the right thing reporting them. They may or may not have said what they she said they said. She could have misunderstood or missed part of it... after all they werent speaking to her and she may have been nervous because of what she thought she was hearing. All that aside, it doesnt mean that they failed to pay the toll (police say they paid, the tape backs them up, they dropped the charges) and the FBI says the plate deal was a beauracratic screwup, not theft. Sometime reality is messy. You ever have a child? Get over it!
P.S. I'm in the camp that thinks (until further notice) Eunice overheard something, was obvious in her attempt to eavesdrop on the rest of the conversation, the 3 stooges took notice and began toying with her. As far as the rest of the day, the story varied from station to station and thread to thread so I figured I'd hold off on making any judgement until information on each charge such as this became available.
The back seat (3rd row) was removed and the gear storage slideouts were installed. Added a cage seperation wall and a cedar pad for the rottweillers on top of that. I have an IC 706 HAM rig and an Outbacker antenna for comm along with a SSB/CB radio, Garmin GPS and a cellular phone .

Running 33x12.50's on the wheels and have modified the rear drum brakes to disc brakes.
All told I paid 10K for the LC two years ago and have about 20K in time , love and labor.My toy truck is currently in the planning stage and my bank account ain't gonna like what I have planned fer that rig :o)

Again did you personally hear them say that on TV or anyplace else. We all heard reports that they said this or that but can you believe everything you hear? Some of you dont believe a word about Waco, OKC, and half a million other things. Not everything you hear is necessarily true. Reporters often report information that turns out not to be true. They rely on the sources that they have. Some of them are relaying third hand information. Some are just kooks looking for their 15 minutes of fame. You are always better off with a news story the day after rather than as it happens.
