Saddam, and some number of body doubles, have played a shell game, moving between many fortified palaces every night. His personal bodyguards are mostly relatives from his hometown, and we have no hope of infiltrating that group, so finding out where he is (and whether a particular person is the real Saddam or a fake) is extremely difficult. We probably know most of the places that he might be, but have no idea which of those is his actual location. I suspect that these doubles actually do many of his "personal" public appearances, and that most of the staff deliberately do not know whether or not it is him.

I'm sure we will hit every location where we suspect he might be, but I seriously doubt that we will get him on the first try.

You are right. The MISERABLE stupidity of the idealogues who pursued this folly made any future exiles of these monsters virtually impossible, no matter how well justice would be served, how many lives would be saved, and how much treasure returned to the victims. True, the chief perp gets away with it, but at least he isn't committing rape and murder every day and night.

Saddam would be happy in Saudi Arabia.

The Saudis would no more have Saddam than the Texans would.

Practically the only country on earth where Saddam could go would be Libya, if Khaddafy gives it the ok. Perhaps Yemen, but I doubt it (and doubt he'd want to go there). Anywhere else and he'd be dead meat.

And, yes, he loves his Johnnie Walker black label.

I'd heard that and just saw some story about a German TV station that had analyzed public appearances of Saddam and say he has 3 doubles. I guess we go after all of them simultaneously given the right intelligence data. I think we can probably count his nose hairs from space with our spy cameras. Why not? At the very least, it will keep their plastic surgeons busy.

I suspect that each of the fakes have committed enough crimes against humanity to rot in hell for nearly as long as their boss, just to keep up appearances. So I am perfectly happy to kill 'em all and let G-d sort 'em out, if he should think that any distinction between them is deserved.

The problem is that each one - and we can only guess how many - requires the same amount of resources to attack, and all of the sites are hardened. Deep bunkers, hidden tunnels, and everything else they could come up with. We actually know how some of it is built, because we have interviewed one of the contractors for one or more of the sites. And unfortunately, nobody is saying this will be easy, even with that knowledge.
