When something is manufactured in West Germany (which technically no longer exists) why do they print "Made in West Germany" in ENGLISH?

They write Made in Germany, because no one else would be able to understand Hergestellt in Deutschland.

"Made in West Germany" in ENGLISH? English is an internationally used language, you know - particularly in the tech field.
