The U.S., Iraq and worst-case scenarios (Barf alert)

Let's face it: Barring some dramatic and unforeseen development, American fighting men and women are going to war in Iraq.

President Bush's case for military action goes like this: In the wake of Sept. 11, the United States needs to consider worst-case scenarios. When it comes to these, few are worse than the prospect of Saddam Hussein delivering chemical, biological or nuclear weapons into the hands of terrorists. With America already on a war footing, there is no time like the present for disarming Iraq.

Given what we already know about Saddam Hussein, it seems like a pretty strong case. The evidence from opinion polls suggests that this case has convinced a majority of the American public. But it has not convinced everyone, and some of those whom it has not convinced are respected thinkers on foreign policy, diplomacy and military strategy, including some in the president's own party and even his White House.

For the most part, these are not traditional "doves." The unconvinced have generally not been against war per se but against this war, at this time. The reasons have to do with what they see as the other worst-case scenarios that need to be taken into consideration -- worst-case scenarios such as:

An invasion of Iraq destabilizing the entire region. Some fear that action against Iraq could lead to widespread unrest and to the potential overthrow of the Saudi Arabian and Pakistani governments. If Pakistan fell to Muslim extremists, so this reasoning goes, al-Qaida would be all but assured access to that country's nuclear arsenal.

A nation-building nightmare in Iraq. Is Saddam Hussein, tyrant that he is, the only thing holding Iraq together? Some experts on Iraq think so, and they predict factional civil war and near anarchy of the sort witnessed in Afghanistan if and when he is toppled -- a fertile breeding ground for terrorism.

Saddam has weapons of mass destruction: Will he use them? The thought of U.S. soldiers being met with chemical or biological weapons is a terrifying thought, and it also raises the question of how the United States would retaliate against such a strike.

War as an acceptable political tactic. The worst-case scenarios aren't limited to the international arena. Last week, Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle spoke out in forceful terms against what he saw as President Bush playing partisan politics with national security. But dyed-in-the-wool Democrats aren't the only ones concerned with President Bush's insistence on a vote authorizing use of force in Iraq before Congress breaks for midterm elections, given his political adviser Karl Rove's supposed advice to Republican congressional candidates to "focus on the war."

No option looks very good. But after 9/11, one thing is clear: More than ever, Americans need to make their choices with the utmost care and consideration.

A Trumpet Call for Watchmen on the Walls

the media and the government are reporting that a U.S. attack on Iraq is coming, and soon. Christians seem divided in their opinion of whether the U.S. belongs involved in this war. The following report gives you a few basic facts from the government and comments by some spiritual leaders. You will need to pray about rightly discerning what the Holy Spirit is saying. Our prayer notes do not suggest that we pray about going to war, or not. In general they offer a guide for protecting our nation, it's leaders and Israel.

Saddam Hussein knows war is coming, and he is preparing for it.

Shortly, within the next few weeks or months, the U.S. will most likely launch an all-out attack on Iraq designed to finish the war many experts say we should have finished a decade ago. The objective will be to hunt down Saddam Hussein and his inner circle and kill them all, while simultaneously locating and destroying his growing stockpile of weapons of mass destruction.

An aide to Prime Minister Sharon, commented in April of this year, "World War III is coming whether you like it or not ... 9/11 was the beginning.... Amid the political battling between the U.S. Congress and the White House, many Christians seem confused about what the U.S. should be doing, or not doing.

This is Joseph Farrah's intelligence report posted on WorldNetDaily in July. Farrah said, "War rhetoric and military preparations indicate the next 12 months will be life-changing for many of us and will make Sept. 11 pale by comparison."

FARRAH'S INTELLIGENCE SOURCES ARE REPORTING THE FOLLOWING:

~ Iraq has terrorists prepared to bring weapons of mass destruction into major cities in the United States and throughout the West.

These terrorists are very wealthy, controlling 80% of the heroin trade in all of Western Europe and 40% of the rest of Europe and America. Between 700 and 900 young locals are being enlisted in their ranks this September!

~ The U.S. government is making the necessary plans to fight this war - with one exception. It is not preparing to protect Americans from the destructive wrath of the coming attacks.

~ The government is making plans for the continuity of government. It's up to Americans themselves to be as prepared as they can possibly be for the coming holocaust. We're on our own. It's up to us to ensure that there is a continuity of America, a continuity of our families, a continuity of life.

Farrah gave more detail from his "intelligence sources": "This war will not just involve Iraq and the United States. Iran will be involved. Syria will be involved. Other Muslim states are likely to be involved. " As we have detailed since 1989, the plan to start the World War III that will produce Antichrist envisions that this war will begin in the Middle East, which will blow up into a fiery conflagration that will draw in the super powers, United States, Russia, and China. Then, once the Middle East is on fire -- a war that may include India and Pakistan --then North Korea is planned to invade South Korea using Weapons of Mass Destruction. Once American forces are fully committed to both the Middle East and Korea, China will invade Taiwan.

PROPHETIC SCRIPTURE FOR THE IRAQI WAR - WHAT SHOULD CHRISTIANS DO?

Jeremiah 50:3 refers to Babylon being destroyed. It was here in the Garden of Eden where Satan launched his plan to bring sin into the world and set up the seat of his evil government. [Read Genesis 3]

Babylon has been ceremoniously rebuilt in modern times by Saddam Hussein. This city contains the demonic entrenchment of other ancient cities like Ur of the Chaldees, to the Assyrian capitals of Nineveh and Nimrod.

Babylon or Bab-ili means "Gateway of the Gods." Assyria, Babylon and now Iraq have been a dwelling place for demons for the past seven millennia.

Jeremiah predicts a destruction of Babylon that will cause Israel and Judah to make an everlasting covenant with God that will never be broken. Isaiah 15:4-12 speaks that God will supernaturally destroy Babylon. V.5 speaks of an army coming from afar. Current events indicate the U.S. is most likely the one to do this with allied forces.

This war has been eleven years in the making since the 1991 Persian Gulf war.

Christian soldiers of the Cross must give a Scriptural application to the war on terrorism. The Lord of Hosts along with the earthly armies of God are now encircling the final strongholds of the serpent---the nations and spiritual principalities of the Islamic Veil and the 10/40

Window. George Otis, Jr. states in his book "The Last of the Giants"........."If Iraq (Babylon) has become the favorite dwelling place of demonic hosts, Iran (Persia) has become their workshop."

Why does Saddam Hussein need to be removed? This a liberating war like Afghanistan, but with a more formidable enemy. There are 10,000 Iraqi freedom fighters currently being trained by the U.S. military to help bring democracy to Iraq. Saddam does not appear to be the gentleman that [prophet] Paul Cain recently called him on the Elijah List. Saddam is indifferent to the welfare of his people. He has been quoted saying of the 25 million Iraqi citizens that he only needs 5 million of them.

From the early 1970s Saddam Hussein and his immediate predecessors razed more than 4,000 villages, evicted at least 1.5 million people and killed upward of a quarter-million individuals.

In the 1980s, an estimated 35,000 people were executed for their religious beliefs alone. Thousands of others---primarily Kurds and Kuwaitis---were disposed of for other reasons. During the Iranian war of the late 80s, Saddam executed hundreds of thousands of innocent Iranians with chemical warfare weapons. Thousands of Iranian troops were electrocuted and their bodies lined up in head-to-toe stacks, sprinkled with lime and dirt and used as a highway for Iraqi military vehicles.

During the Gulf War, General Norman Schwarzkopf described the demonic ghoulish nature of the torture to be acted out by the Iraqi forces on the Kuwaiti's only as "not of the same human race." Reports from high level Iraqi government defectors in the 90s report that Saddam has killed 40 members of his own family.

Currently holed up in Yasser Arafat's Muqata complex in Ramallah, is among others Arafat's closest terrorist chief, Tawfiq Tirawi, who is personally in charge of Arafat's connection with Saddam Hussein. This is probably the main reason for Israel's recent operations in Ramallah. In case of a war with Iraq, it is very important that Israel is able to expose all terror plans against Israel coordinated between Arafat, Iraq and al Qaeda. Most likely Iraq has already been able to smuggle in biological and/or chemical weapons to Palestinian terrorists.

We certainly need to pray for God's TIMING for any U.S. involvement in going to war, and we should go in God's power and His strategy. We need to pray that an internal terrorist attack is not conducted within the U.S. while we await U.N. and Congressional approval. The U.S.

Congress was recently barricaded because the Members believe that al Qaeda still see it as an unfinished mission. Pray for our Christian president and his cabinet to hear God's wisdom and follow divine direction in the pursuit of the Islamic terrorists of the world. Al Qaeda and Hizballah already have an alarming military presence in most of the Continent of Africa and South East Asia.

Pray for the protection of the President and the Executive Branch from being attacked. I recently had a vision in which I was shown the presidential limo being blown up, some leading cabinet members also being killed, and the government was seized. Following this massacre of government leaders, U.S. citizens were taken over by a DICTATOR.

[Intercession will avert the plots of the evil one.]

PRAYER IS THE ONLY SHIELD OF PROTECTION WE HAVE..

[1] Pray Psalm 35 and 91.

[2] Pray for the terrorism threat within America to be exposed and averted.

[3] Pray for the Homeland Security efforts to be equipped to guard citizens against terrorists who are setup to do this nation harm.

[4] Repentance will buy this nation and Israel more time. God is in control of all these events, and pray that we move in His timing.

[5] It is time for God's people, who are called by His name, to seriously seek God's face and cry out for help and mercy and God will spare us like Nineveh.

[6] Let your home become a "threshing floor" and offer up a sacrifice of prayer to spare the U.S. and Israel from great devastation. Scripture tells us how God will always defend Israel. Both nations are sinful and need God's continued mercy. Repentance for national sin brings His mercy. [Note: Nineveh, Sodom and Gomorrah.]

[7] Intercessors and watchmen on the wall must assume 24-hour war positions. During WW II, the Welsh intercessor Rees Howells told the people who prayed for victory in the war against Hitler that as intercessors they should not expect that the battle in prayer would be any easier than for the soldiers at the actual battle front. We must be prepared to put in all of our effort in the battle against the forces of Islam. George Otis, Jr. says Islam is the last of the giants to be defeated by the Church.

[8] We can see Scripture being fulfilled as Great Britain, the United States and Canada have stood together to help protect Israel from being annihilated by the Middle East rogue nations. The "young lions" stand with Israel as the nations of the world turn against her. [Ezekiel 38:13] European nations grow cold towards Israel.

[9] "For Zion's sake I will not be silent and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest." [Isaiah 62.1]

Pray For This NATIONAL SOLEMN ASSEMBLY
Scheduled October 8-9th in Washington, D.C.

SUCH A SOLEMN ASSEMBLY COULD SPARE OUR NATION LIKE NINEVAH!

WHAT ABOUT AMERICA IN SCRIPTURE DURING THE END TIME?

Note this observation by Francis Frangipane:

"The Scriptures speak of a time when great persecution will break out at the end of the age. In the midst of this persecution, we read an arresting message in Rev 12:14. It says: "And the two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, in order that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she was nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent."

The book of Revelation is, by definition, a book of revelations. Its symbolic portraits must be interpreted not only in historic terms but also in light of end-time realities. Frankly, no one has accurately been able to interpret this book to the satisfaction of everyone else. It would be a sin of bold presumption on my part to assume I am the first to present an infallible interpretation. Even as we seek to stay humble, let us cautiously proceed, relying on God and time itself to confirm His Word. In that attitude, let me submit to you my thoughts.

The above Scripture speaks of the wings of the great eagle being given to the woman. The woman is not a singular individual, but a symbol of the holy, praying church, pregnant to give birth to its end-time elect (see Matthew Henry's Commentary on Rev 12:1-11). Amidst great spiritual warfare, she delivers her child, who in turn is caught up to God (Rev12:5). Some interpret the woman to be unsaved Israel giving birth to Christ, but this cannot be, for the woman overcomes her conflict with the dragon by the "blood of the Lamb" (Rev 12:11). Therefore, since she trusts Christ, she must symbolize the true, glorious Church, those who hold "the testimony of Jesus" (Rev 12:17).

Just as the woman represents a holy people, so the "wings of the great eagle" depict a provision from God that secures for the woman refuge from the rage of the evil one. The eagle symbolizes something which is capable of providing protection from what would otherwise be a worldwide persecution of Christians by the dragon.

I submit to you that this reference to a "great eagle" could very easily be a prophetic portrait of the United States of America. Before you dismiss such an idea, consider: There simply has never been in the history of the world a nation more committed to being a refuge for persecuted people than America. Additionally, when we consider that the national symbol of the U.S. is the "great eagle," the symbolism becomes even more plausible.

It is this defense of freedom, as well as the American ideal of protecting human rights, that is central to what it means to be an American. Indeed, many of those who originally came to America did so while fleeing persecution for their faith. In a real way, this Scripture has already been fulfilled by many of our founding fathers. The persecution our forefathers suffered was sown, like a seed, into the DNA of American culture. Protection for persecuted people, from God's view, has always been at the center of America's historic purpose.

To provide shelter to persecuted people is still central to our ideals today. Since God provided the great eagle to symbolize protection of persecuted Christians at the end of the age, and since it is also the symbol of America, we ought not to abandon ourselves to a hopeless view of the future. It is in our compelling interest to pray that America would continue to be a place of provision and protection right up until the rapture of the church.

IT IS LATER THAN WE THINK!

Prophecy is unfolding before our eyes and the evangelization of the Gentiles is almost complete. The phenomenal growth of Evangelical Christianity, now numbers as many as 50 million Bible believers in America. Bible-believing Christians throughout the U.S. hold firm views regarding the State of Israel's role in the divine plan for history and, more than ever before, they have begun to put their money, and their political clout, to work on its behalf.

Eventually, the New World Order is coming! Are you ready? Once you understand what this New World Order really is, and how it is being gradually implemented, you will be able to see it progressing in your daily news!!

Are you spiritually ready? Is your family? Are you adequately protecting your loved ones? We want you to understand the peril facing you, so you can help develop strategies to warn and protect your loved ones. These perilous times are also a time when we can reach many souls for Jesus Christ, making an eternal difference.

Wise [bridal] virgins will be prepared to deny the Antichrist's government and stand for Jesus Christ when that day arrives. ANY PEACE PLAN WILL BE FALSE

The Antichrist will bring forth a false peace plan following the Middle East war. The Antichrist comes to power through an international peace pact (see Daniel 9:27). Ezekiel 38:14-18 refers to a time when Israel will be at peace when Russia, and Iran with other Middle East countries will attack her from the north. The effort to work toward [a false] peace has been in the works since the signing of the Oslo Accord ten years ago.

The 'Quartet" of officials from the United Nations, United States, Russia and the European Union who gathered on Sept. 17th, called on Israel to withdraw its army from Palestinian territory occupied since the beginning of the Intifada on Sept. 28, 2000, by the middle of next year. The withdrawal would be part of a new peace plan that could ultimately lead to an independent Palestinian state by 2005 through negotiations.

This proposed peace plan is no different than every previous plan that has failed. The demand for Israel to withdraw from land that is Biblically hers will not lead to peace because it is a violation of the Word of God. There are repeated declarations in the writings of the Prophets that God Himself will come against those nations that promote and seek to effect the division of His land. This 'no-peace'plan is dangerous - not so much for Israel in the long run, whom God will always defend - but for the nations who seek to divid e her. Watch the development of this proposal - prophecy is unfolding.

THE CHURCH'S BIBLICAL POSTURE TOWARD ISRAEL AND JERUSALEM

It is not accidental that the attacks upon New York and Washington came a week after the United States stood with Israel and boycotted the UN Conference on Racism in Durban, South Africa. The unfolding "war" with the power of radical Islam is a "contest" which the Bible prophesies and shows to ultimately be directed at the destruction of the nation of Israel, the extinction of the Jewish people and the domination of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. All who stand with the Jewish people - the Messianic race - their God-appointed land, and their destiny will come under attack by this power. This Biblical reality has and will continue to try and test every nation and ruler, and is a "plumbline" issue in the Church, testing the heart of every so-called Christian.

Continual intercession is needed for the U.S. President, his cabinet and administration, and members of Congress to remain clear and consistent in their understanding of this issue, and in maintaining a "hands-off" supportive posture toward Israel and the sovereignty of Jerusalem.

Standing in covenant with Israel in a Biblical sense does not mean that one must agree with all of that nation's political decisions. Nor does it mean turning away from having a redemptive heart and concern for the Arab peoples and nations, the seed of Ishmael.

STRATEGIC PRAYER FOR ISRAELIS TO TURN THEIR HEARTS TOWARD THE ONLY TRUE HOPE OF SALVATION AND PEACE: JESUS CHRIST

The people of Israel are always looking for someone to "save" them. Unfortunately, they look to men and not to the Sent One, the true Savior, Yeshua. Thus, they become disappointed and fall into despair when the "man" turns out not to be a superhero but simply a "man". This disappointment and false hope usually opens the door for some plan of the enemy to enter in, as happened with the Oslo Accords under Yitzak Rabin. When that failed people then put their hope in a series of Prime Ministers: right wing Netanyahu, the left wing Barak and now right wing

Sharon. Now that he hasn't been able to solve the problems right away, people, especially from the "left," are putting the hope of their "salvation" in a "rising star" from the Labor Party, Haifa Mayor Amram Mitzna who has taken a massive lead over incumbent Labor chairman Binyamin Ben-Eliezer. But Mitzna is more left wing than Ben-Eliezer and more than even Rabin was.

[1] Please continue to ask that God would give our governmental leaders wisdom, discernment and strength to carry out His plan for Israel.

[2] Pray that the Lord would turn their hearts to Him, their only true hope of salvation. Especially intercede for P.M. Sharon who probably has the toughest job of any head of state in the world. Pray this verse for him: "The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will." (Proverbs 21:1)

[3] Pray that governmental decisions would be for the benefit of Israel and not just for the politicians benefit, or even just the benefit of their specific party. May truth prevail and win the day, O Lord!

[4] Pray that the Lord would remove the great power and influence that the Shas orthodox religious party has over the government and especially the Ministry of Interior. Their control inhibits aliyah, (the return and immigration of Jews back to their homeland, Israel), and the work of many Christian volunteer organizations

STAGE BEING SET FOR THE APPEARING OF ANTICHRIST

While we do not know the exact timing of the New World Order, many prophetic theologians see that the war with Iraq could be the timing to produce Antichrist! If, or when America attacks Iraq, it could wreak enormous devastation, since Iraqi terrorist agents are prepared to promptly level an attack against American cities using biological weapons. While America was reeling from the devastation caused by these attacks, China and Russia could then launch an attack against America using nuclear weapons. [We need to pray for God's Mercy for America.]

In the event of such a national crisis, the Health Emergency Plan drafted in November, 2001 will be forced upon all of us by Presidential Executive Order. This plan authorizes authorities to seize and hold people indefinitely, seize their private property without compensation, and force people to be vaccinated against their will, even if it means herding entire populations into public arenas like sports stadiums!

China's Military Planners Take Credit for 9/11 NewsMax 9/24/02

Soon after the horrific attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, two high-ranking Chinese military planners took credit for the 9/11 attacks - and were even hailed as national heroes in China.

In fact, three years before 9/11, the Chinese colonels had proposed the attacks and cited Osama bin Laden by name in their book "Unrestricted Warfare."

Qiao and Wang offer in "Unrestricted Warfare" several new methods for destroying the U.S. - from manipulating U.S. media, to homicide-suicide bombing, to using immigrants as a fifth column, and even employing cyber attacks to destroy America's critical infrastructure.

Both colonels agreed that the unconventional attacks of 9/11 were right from the pages of their book, and they demonstrated their theory works. "The attacks demonstrated the United States' fragility and weakness and showed that essentially it is unable to stand attacks. ... The United States, a giant tiger, has been dealing with mice; unexpectedly, this time it was bitten by mice - it has been wielding a large hammer but has been unable to find the flea.

"From a short-term perspective, the attacks in the United States will very likely have some effect on China's economy - they might affect China's economic growth. However, from a long-term viewpoint, they could be favorable to China."

"Unrestricted Warfare" has set off alarm bells among several high-ranking U.S. officers.

Adm. Thomas Moorer, former chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff, warns, "'Unrestricted Warfare' reveals China's game plan in its coming war with America." He adds ominously, "China thinks it can destroy America by using these tactics."

Maj. Gen. John K. Singlaub, former chief of staff of U.S. Forces Korea, shares Adm. Moorer's view.
