Statement by RNC Chairman Racicot on the 1st Day of FY 2003 plus Free the Daschle 50

Statement by RNC Chairman Marc Racicot on the First Day of Fiscal-Year 2003

WASHINGTON - Marc Racicot, Chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC), today issued the following statement:

"For the first time in a quarter century the United States Senate has failed to pass a budget. Every American knows that formulation of a budget brings about financial discipline and stability. The Democrat's inability or unwillingness to engage in a process that Republicans and Democrats alike have used for decades to identify spending priorities, control excessive Washington spending and reduce deficits is demonstrative evidence of a lack of competence and leadership.

"Republicans will continue to press for passage of important legislation to stimulate our economy and create jobs -- legislation initiated by the President and passed the House of Representatives which continue to be obstructed by Senate Democrats and their special interests. Democrats should overcome their own internal discord and attend to the business of our country.

"Democrats continue to make veiled references to holding a post-election summit to address tax and government spending questions. If it is their intention to raise taxes they should make it known now, and use the summit where all Americans are represented, namely the U.S. Congress."

We are getting ready to combined these two ping lists together into one giant ping list for the elections. If you want off of the Senate Ping List I put up before this one or the one I am doing now, please let me know.

Some of you will appear on both lists for this thread only as they are being consolidated tonight. Floriduhvoter and I want to give all of you one last chance to get off the mega ping list which I am sure is going to turn more high volume from now until the election!

If anyone wants added to the mega ping list, please let me know as well!

Thanks!

PKM

Just another reminder about how totally ineffective daschle is as a Majority Leader. This needs to go out far and wide. Freepers, please send this to everyone you know, including all of your liberal and independent friends. We must win and we need to fight harder than we've ever faught before!

I was over at the NRSC website looking for something else when I ran across this! I was shocked. I like the headline they used -- FREE THE DASCHLE 50!

I could not believe there are that many bills waiting for the Senate to do something on and who knows there could be more by now! I know the President hasn't strained his hand signing bills!

Amazing how the democrats can cause all this grief for a GOP president when they only have a narrow margin in the senate
But a GOP controlled senate and house was continually rolled by Clinton

Ugh! Do the dimwits think they are going to win back the House, hold the Senate and go on a spending spree after the elections? The RNC needs to keep hammering on the budget issue and the deliberately partisan stonewalling and lack of Dem leadership in Congress. Every GOP candidate should make "Free The Daschle 50" their mantra going into November.

Would you please add me to your ping list?

Help us give the President a GOP Senate and let's see what happens then. The President is starting to play hardball. Besides, the RATS are dirty and corrupt. We need to send a strong message in November. Please help us!

I know exactly what you mean! One big difference in the Senate is the rule that the Clinton DemocRATs came up with that certain bills require a 60 vote majority.

If the Republican Senate had that with clinton, nothing would have passed. We had 10 RINO Senators at the time that were known to cross over and vote for Clinton on many occasions so we would have the same 42-46 Senators voting Conservative!

please add me

After Nov., and, hopefully, after we take back the Senate, I wonder if the Rats will realize that Tiny Tom`s stateagery cost them the election. Our base has to be modivated after all his nonsense.
