I lived in St. George, Utah for about 9 months - the closest city to Colorado City. We saw what we called "Pligs" (short for Polygamists) all the time. They came over from Colorado City. As a dare, sometimes we college students would drive through Colorado City. Very twilight zonish there.

This is a hit piece on Napolitano, not Mormons. The underlying story is accurate but no politician since Pyle will touch it. As bad as it seems, in context of what else goes on out in the boonies it blends into the background. It is a pot best left covered.

No one will go after Colorado City after the Pyle fiasco.

Babbitt not only failed to investigate when he was AZ AG, but refered to the group as "an interesting piece of Americana" !?!

The reference to Waco in the article got things off on the wrong foot with me. Koresh was a child molester, but that was not the reason for the raid. There was no excuse for ATF/FBI/ETC. to even be there. And absolutely no excuse for their actions. It was a state matter.

This is a state matter, too. I don't believe everything in the story, and I understand that it is a liberal rag, but sometimes there are truths to be told that so disturb the powers that be that only a liberal rag will touch it.

Yes, I believe the gist of the story. It has to be investigated. Women and children are being held, raped, tortured, treated like Muslim women or worse, and nothing is done. In America! This cannot stand.

As I read the article, I could not help but wonder "Could Elizabeth Smart possibly be there? Or at the place in B.C.?" When I first heard that theory, it sounded highly implausible, but after reading this article, I give it more credence.
