No. According to CFR, it's too close to the election.

A "Waco-level" threat? Is that the threat of the FBI Hostage Roasting Team coming in with tanks to gas everyone, especially the children who don't have gas masks, then shoot them or burn them to death, to save the children?

of course New Times is a very left-ish free paper only read by teenagers who don't know any better. They are attacking mormons IMHO. Napolitano is a democrat running for governor currently against republican Salmon who is mormon.

The letter states that Olsen left her two children in Colorado City and that she fears they are being punished.

"Their father is my uncle," her letter states.

The untold part of this is that this clan migrated west from kentucky!

We have to be careful not to blindly believe government information about religion. I'm not saying it couldn't be true, but I'm saying remember the motives many have. Religion is not allowed in a socialist society, and therefore must be demonized as much as possible.
They said the exact same thing about Waco, remember?
Ruby Ridge was suppose to be an armed fort with dangerous weapons, but it was just a couple who wanted to be left alone.
Be careful with these types of reports. Who knows who's "adding" to the accusations there.

Flora Jessop was born and raised in Colorado City. Her father, Joseph Jessop, has two wives who produced 28 children. Her uncle, Fred Jessop, is one of the top FLDS officials.

One birth sort of a full set!

Well, it's obvious we should round 'em up into a building--maybe their city hall--and send in an armored division to burn 'em out.

Maybe this stuff is partly true. But it smells like sensationalistic bull-clinton.

"Mainline Mormon ambivalence stems from the fact that multiple wifery is one of the eternal principles' of Mormonism," the memo states. "Having multiple wives prepares men for celestial status."

This part is not true. Mainline Mormons hate these groups we are their most bitter enemies. They bring a bad name to us. Any member of the church that espouses such doctrine is ex-communicated. No known member of the church practices this out-dated practice if they try they are immediately ex-communicated and never let back into the church. Murders are treated better by the church than these people.

Much of this article about these cult members is true. My parents live just a few miles from Hilsdale. They often see these people in old-fasion clothing picking up their wives. They live off the state by only marying one woman legally the others are on welfare often in separate small houses (avoids the law). Little can be done as they stick together and will not testify against each other or allow anyone else to live in their private towns. Furthermore technically they are doing nothing different than mainstream America. Adultry is not ill-legal in any state and that is all they technically do. Adultry is what they were convicted of 50 years ago. It cost Arizona and Utah millions supporting all of these children. First they let the women out then the men to take care of their famlies. I doubt they will ever be convicted again in any number. Although it is likely some will be for child abuse.

I do not believe the part about the Arms Buildup. I seriously doubt they have any more fire-arms than the average people in this rattlesnake infested area.

You forgot to talk about the Meth Lab. You'll never get the National Guard to supply you with the helicopters and Bradleys until you claim they got a meth lab on premises.

While we're at it, let's take a good look at that other evil death cult we have in this country, Islam. I hear they treat their women pretty crappy too, and not only do they rape them, they kill the women afterwards for provoking it.

New Times is not a reliable paper, they find information that is frequently false and blow it out of proportion, that's their track record. There's plenty of people who dislike mormons in AZ. If this story is really true, then there's more responsible journalists who can pick up the story. Napolitano as Attorney General will do her job generally at least, that's my impression. They may be trying to whip up anti-mormon frenzy as a means of discrediting republicans who have a mormon candidate for governor; New Times' whole game is toinfluence teenagers in politics.

This is a sensationalized piece. After all that is what the New Times does. Don't dismiss it out of hand though.
Remember their investigation into the Bowles killing. They overturned a lot of rocks that haven't been disturbed since.

This is a hit piece on Napolitano, not Mormons. The underlying story is accurate but no politician since Pyle will touch it. As bad as it seems, in context of what else goes on out in the boonies it blends into the background. It is a pot best left covered.
