Medicinal Marijuana and THC pills-Vanity
self

Posted on 10/06/2002 11:49:17 AM PDT by hapsgroupie

I'm writing an article for my school paper on medicinal marijuana, focusing on California's policies on the subject. Could anyone give me a good source for information on THC pills, or any arguments for the illegalization of marijuana?

Oh, look! A genius of the Millenium!

He's found the sine qua non of philosophy - how to prove that a thing does not exist.

Are you going to share your bottomless fountain of wisdom with the rest of us mere mortals? Or is this just an inspiration that came to you while you were... ahh... oh, never mind

Legalizing marijuana would discriminate against minorites. Some minority family fortunes, such as the Kennedys', got their start with the prohibition of alcohol.

We must have similar opportunities for today's minorites.

...any arguments for the illegalization of marijuana?

<sarcasm>Surely you have seen the movie "Reefer Madness." It clearly shows that MJ is addictive and it makes people want to rape and kill!

Marijuana, like alcohol, nicotine, aspirin and caffeine, leads to the use of harder drugs!

Besides, if marijuana was not illegal anymore, thousands of police and jailers would be out of work and have to go on welfare.</sarcasm>

THC is a sedative (in its pure form). I would think that nembutal or seconal would serve the same purpose. The only difference is that you can't grow the last two in your house (or yard), and get them for free.

Highly addictive substances, cocaine, morphine, barbiturates are all available, legally, now with a physician's prescription.

There is no reason, other than the wish of some sanctimonious moralists, to preclude the use of marijuana by prescription.

Further, there is reason to believe that inhaled marijuana may have different, and more helpful effects than the oral marinol.

First, there may be and likely are other active substances in marijuana with beneficial effects beyond THC.

Secondly, just as the effects of, for example, estrogens are different orally compared to transdermally because of the first pass though the liver pharmacodynamics, we can suspect the same holds true for oral versus inhaled.

You should do your own research. Do a search on Google and you'll find all you need. Better yet, try a library.

I ate cheese prior to drinking beer in highschool; surley CHEESE IS THE GATEWAY DRUG!

I own my body. What I choose to ingest is my own business. Prohibitionists are tyrants.

"any arguments for the illegalization of marijuana?"

Yes I can give you one. It's necessary to keep it illegal in order to keep the black market for the stuff alive, keep the police and national guard busy, and make sure dying cancer victims are not able to eat.Marinol has been proven to be ineffective compared with the actual smoking of strong cannibus.Marinol is also really expensive. Both to produce and buy.The drug companys do not want medical cannibus legal, because anyone can grow their own medicine, and that deprives them of the massive profits they make on other drug compounds.

I never thought of that.

What a concept.

Yeah. To do your own work instead of "interviewing" people on Free Republic, then cutting and pasting their responses into your "article for the school paper". Not cheating - what a concept.

I'm honored that you're so intent on setting me straight, but I am well capable of doing, and have done, my own research. You should know the difference between interviewing and legitimate asking for help.

Meanwhile, go parent someone else and leave me alone, please. You didn't have to help or respond. I'll send you a copy of the "article in the school newspaper" when it's finished.
