"Pravda=Truth"
"Izvestia=News"

Old coldwar joke :
" The is no news in Pravda, and no truth in Izvestia".

I don't totally blame people for protecting their retirement fund and family.

Even in 1947 the rancher was kept naked for days in a jail cell and threatened with the disappearance and termination of his wife and kids until he agreed to support the government line.

Direct from the Blue Zone to you.

Seems like the Silver Surfer was around there also.

(I remember this junk from a misspent youth and still can't do derivatives.)

Mars craters: NASA's Mars Global Surveyor's high resolution image shows gullies on the walls of a meteor impact crater in the Newton Basin, in Sirenum Terra, Mars. The photo is among a group of 18 812 images being added to the Mars Global Surveyor online image gallery. Photo: AP

Dr Malin has done a fine job. His Mars-cam is still the best thing NASA has going at Mars. Hoagland thinks Malin is in on the NASA scam, but I don't agree.

Someone asked Malin about finding evidence of life on Mars, would he keep it secret so as to not alarm the masses. He said that if he found evidence of life on Mars it would be the news of the century and there is no way he would keep it to himself. NASA could not possibly hide such news.

Where's Ted when you really need him?

"Channelling" his parrot? Or, having cyber-sex with an ASCII bat named "Splifford"?

IMPOSSIBLE!!!

Just ask the guy that Aldrin cold-cocked. We never went to the moon. Ergo, this Pravda malarky is a pigment of their imagination!

And let's not forget. The moon is made of green cheese.

Do you ever wonder why we no longer go to the Moon...?

Been there, done that.

Many such have been seen by backyard astronomers

About the most that makes it to mainstream media, i.e., Skly & Telescope, is the transient clouds seen in some craters. Reports of operating lunar mines and equipment are reserved for fringe publications.

“When I was on the moon, the airport was much nicer than today.

With more tax dollars, we can keep the moon afloat for our chilrun! Mars is tacky and besides... I always liked Yur-anus”

IT HASN'T TOTALLY SUCCESSFULLY HIDDEN SUCH NEWS.

HOWEVER, OUR GOV *CAN* KEEP HIGHLY SENSITIVE THINGS SECRET FOR MANY, MANY DECADES--VERY SUCCESSFULLY.

Those of us who have had highly classified security clearnces for any serious length of time have seen BOTH the capacity to keep and the incapacity to keep. Many things affect both. But when the chips are down and the topic or the contingencies serious enough--for all intents and purposes--those on a need to know are the only ones who know. And sometimes literally, those are the only ones who know.

But in terms of these topics, many people know and many people talk. But the disinformation and media management has been classically successful. Ridicule is a very effective censoring mechanism. And on such a grand scale with so many successful tools, the powers that been have been grandly successful. No big mystery in that. No need for incredulity regarding that.

Some have contended based on--to the best of my memory--the crashing of the LEMS into the moon and analyses of the resulting shock waves--as well as some mechanics of bodies calculations--that the moon is mostly hollow???? That one I haven't yet believed but it is an interesting contention.

AS my boss said ABOUT Hitler--it was the fringe publications that MOST ACCURATELY AND SOONEST LABELED HIM FOR WHAT HE WAS AND MOST ACCURATELY DESCRIBED WHAT HE WOULD DO.

THE HOUSE ORGANS AND MOUTH PIECES OF THE ESTABLISHMENT GROUPS were wrong repeatedly.

I REALLY WOULD DEEPLY APPRECIATE any fair minded person's insights and a sounding board dialogue with such hereon. It's not easily achieved. Haven't meant to offend anyone. I suppose you could ignore same.
